TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday Evening...Officially The Weekend Now!

NO rain overnight or today. Today was a nice day...those at the park enjoyed sunny skies, but despite the sun...it did feel a little colder today due to the wind. Now that the weekend is underway...weather and trail conditions never looked better...tomorrow (Saturday) we are anticipating awesome weather...sunny with temperatures in the upper 60's...in fact, we saw one report stating we might even see 70! Sunday should be equally as nice...sunny skies and low to mid 60's. Whichever day of the weekend you choose...they both look great. We look forward to seeing you in Bulcher this weekend. As for your comprehensive report...enjoy!

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall/moisture totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday-- Light rain mist; however, nothing measurable
overnight-- NO RAIN...moisture freezing overnight creating ICY CONDITIONS
* Tuesday-- Rain drizzle
overnight—Sleet/freezing rain...creating ICY CONDITIONS
* Wednesday--ICY CONDITIONS in a.m.
overnight—NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 10:20 p.m.

The bulk of the moisture we received this week was via freezing rain. We didn't get a huge amount of moisture, just enough to make things messy for Tuesday and Wednesday and close schools in our area both days. Thankfully while not a lot...the moisture was just perfect to settle the dust!

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility, including Bill's Woods & Pete's Gate. The recent moisture this week helped settle the dust....a weekend trail riding without dust....your dream come true!

RED RIVER
While we did get moisture this week...it was not substantial enough to affect Red River levels. Thus the river still remains at a low level at this time. While you may ride in our creek area, be on the lookout for creeping amounts of quicksand towards the end of Mountain Creek as you can sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. The only place where mud/quicksand will possibly be an issue is in the creek and NOT on trails.

CREEK
Creek riding is not a problem as Mountain Creek is at a low level. The creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

Please note that due to extremely dry conditions...a BURN BAN is now in EFFECT for Cooke County and thus at RRMT, Inc. NO open pit campfires or open outdoor grilling permitted.

RRMT, Inc. will be OPEN this weekend, tomorrow, Saturday January 31 and Sunday February 1 with park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend! Please note: RRMT, Inc. is now observing fall/winter park hours.

Don't forget the annual TORO Race put on by the Red River Dirt Riders is just around the corner....Sunday, February 8! Please note that the park will be CLOSED Monday, February 2 - Sunday, February 8 for race prep & race.

Have a great weekend!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

What a difference a couple of days make...

Well the cold front and brief winter weather we had the past couple of days is long gone now...NO further rain/precipitation overnight. This morning as of 9:20 a.m., we have a current temperature of 29 degrees. The sun is out and it is shining brightly this morning. Yesterday the warmth from the sun was warm enough to melt all the ice by day's end. Today is shaping up to be a really nice day...a little on the cold side though...highs are only expected to be in the upper 40's; however, we are well on our way to having great weather for this weekend...we're expecting mid 60's for Saturday and Sunday. We have received NO rain thus far today.

Please note that due to extremely dry conditions...a BURN BAN is now in EFFECT for Cooke County and thus at RRMT, Inc. NO open pit campfires or open outdoor grilling permitted.

RRMT, Inc. will be OPEN this weekend, Saturday January 31 and Sunday February 1 with park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend! Please note: RRMT, Inc. is now observing fall/winter park hours.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hello Icy Wednesday...

Well for those of you that read our blog yesterday...we had posted that the Red River Valley Area here in Bulcher was under an ICE STORM WARNING...well believe it or not, this is one forecast that was actually fulfilled....boy, do we have ice...late yesterday, it started sleeting a lot. Overnight, with below freezing temperatures, has created a layer of ice this morning, making driving out on the roads by Bulcher very dangerous. As of 8:55 a.m., we have a current temperature of 17 degrees. Wind chill is making it feel like 10 degrees though...despite the cold temperatures and current icy conditions, the sun is out in full force this morning. We have had no further precipitation this morning. We are expecting a high temperature of 39 degrees today, so it will only barely get above freezing today; however, the sun will likely start to melt some of this ice away by day's end, but we'll have to keep you posted. For those of you that don't have to go out today...take a BAD WEATHER DAY...and tune up the bike for this weekend's gorgeous forecasted temperatures.

Happy ICE DAY... STAY WARM!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Tuesday Afternoon...

Found your winter coat and hat yet? If not, you better find it fast...even though Bulcher didn't receive enough moisture yesterday to even report, the mist that fell was just enough to make for messy conditions this morning. This morning on our way out to the park, we found that roads were very slick due to a layer of ice coating the surface making things a slow go up in our area. Well not much has changed since yesterday...as of 12:45 p.m., we have a current temperature of 27 degrees as it is cloudy out this afternoon. We have a current wind chill of 16 making it feel even colder out. Our area is under an ICE STORM WARNING and will be until tomorrow (Wednesday) morning....as the area prepares for another round of freezing rain/ precipitation. Not expecting to see the sun or much of a warm-up for that matter...high is suppose to be 30, so it is doubtful that we will even make it above freezing today. We have not received any substantial amount of rain yesterday or today thus far...however, we do have a slight drizzle falling on and off this morning. So even though the weather is so cold now...lookout...the weather this weekend is supposed to be GORGEOUS....good thing Texas weather changes so quickly!

Safe travels to everyone out on the roads today.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Another Monday...

Those that traveled out to Bulcher yesterday enjoyed nice weather...yesterday everyone enjoyed pleasant temperatures and sunny skies...a lot better than Saturday but of course, not quite as warm as Thursday and Friday when we enjoyed upper 70's. Nevertheless, the way it looks this morning...those spring like temperatures are long gone by now...NO rain overnight. This morning as of 10 a.m., we have a current temperature of 34 degrees. It is foggy and overcast this morning and very cold as indicated by the temperature. At the moment, there is a slight mist falling, but at this time, nothing measurable to report...we'll keep you posted. Today thru Wednesday...the Red River Valley Area might actually get some much needed rain. Bulcher has a 60% chance of moisture both today and tomorrow. Furthermore, since it is going to be cold the next couple of days (highs in the upper 30's today-Wednesday), the forecast is actually calling for freezing rain tomorrow thru Wednesday a.m., so we'll just have to wait and see. One thing’s for sure...it's gonna be cold this first part of the week...so might as well make use of the cold weather...stay home and work on the bikes...because you'll need to have them ready for this upcoming weekend...because Texas weather is crazy and unpredictable and already looking ahead to the upcoming weekend....we're expecting lots of sun and low to upper 60's expected for Saturday and Sunday!

Wishing Everyone A Great Monday!

And luckily, as always in Texas, our cold spell is going to be short-lived, with an awesome weekend forecast in the 50's and 60's expected for Saturday and Sunday! TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday...

We apologize for our 2 day hiatus...most people that read our blog are probably wondering where the heck did RRMT,Inc. go? And the answer is...OUTSIDE. Yesterday and today...absolutely gorgeous days! Unbelievable weather for January that we just decided to enjoy the fantastic weather ourselves...we let the 'ole computer have a break. Anyways, we are back!

NO Rain yesterday, overnight or thus far today....that should come as no surprise. Today we have enjoyed sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 70's. Yesterday was equally as nice. The reason that we decided to enjoy the weather is because tomorrow is suppose to be on the cooler side (high 40's) and windy. Then Sunday is suppose to be back to somewhat normal...sunny and upper 50's anticipated.

Without further hesitation, let's get the weekend started.

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday-- Few sprinkles of rain, but nothing measurable to report
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 5:30 p.m.

Again, no measurable precipitation to report this week. Thus, due to the extremely dry conditions...we are still under a burn ban!

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility, including Bill's Woods & Pete's Gate. Since we have not received any rain in months, dust is to be anticipated.

RED RIVER
Due to NO rain in recent months...the Red River remains at a low level.

Please note that 2009 RRMT, Inc. Memberships are now on sale! Feel free to mail in your application for 2009 to our park office or just bring it to the park office on your next trip to RRMT, Inc. TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Tuesday Morning...

Well just our luck...just when it looks as though we'll definitely get rain...yesterday it ended up sprinkling and believe it or not, that's all it did. It sprinkled and then sprinkled some more in the morning and then it just ended. Went out to the gauge and nothing...not even enough to measure. Crazy...how everywhere else around us gets rain, but nope not us. So after all that excitement about potential rain, disappointment sets in yet again. This morning as of 10 a.m., we have a current temperature of 38 degrees. The sun is out this morning as today is shaping up to be a beautiful day...upper 50's expected by afternoon. We have received NO rain thus far today.

Please note that 2009 RRMT, Inc. Memberships are now on sale! Feel free to mail in your application for 2009 to our park office or just bring it to the park office on your next trip to RRMT, Inc. TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hello rain...

Yes, believe it or not, it has started sprinkling drops of rain here. Even though it is shaping up to be a yucky day...the rain is badly needed. We will wait until it stops raining to give you a complete total of how much precipitation we end up getting. At this time, all we have falling from the sky is rain...we have no snow or freezing rain at this time. The current temperature as of 9 a.m. though is 30 degrees. It is cloudy and overcast this morning as we are only expecting the high today to be 32 degrees. So we may never get above freezing. NO sun or warm-up is expected, in fact the forecast here is calling for temperatures to drop throughout the day...so we'll just have to wait and see. Today's weather is a drastic change from the record temperature of 84 degrees we had on Saturday! Like we've said before...if you don't like the weather in Texas...just wait a little bit and it will likely change. Hope everyone says warm & safe on the roads today.

Please note that 2009 RRMT, Inc. Memberships are now on sale! Feel free to mail in your application for 2009 to our park office or just bring it to the park office on your next trip to RRMT, Inc. Already wishing this winter weather was over...you won't have to wait long...looking at the forecast already for the rest of the week...they are calling for 70's on Thursday and Sunday with the other days of the late week and weekend...in the 60's. This brief cold front won't last long...so get the bike tuned up because you're going to need it.
