TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hello on this cold & windy Saturday...

Where did the warm weather go? The 70's and 80's of this past week are long gone. NO rain yesterday or overnight. This afternoon as of 12:15 p.m., we have a current temperature of 40 degrees. While it is sunny out, it is very windy today, making it feel even colder outside than it really is. While we were anticipating low 50's today, unlike the forecast, the reality of the situation is that it might not even make it out of the high 40's today. We have received NO rain thus far today. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail/weather conditions, please refer to yesterday's (Friday's) blog.

Please note that due to extremely dry conditions...a BURN BAN is in EFFECT for Cooke County and thus at RRMT, Inc. NO open pit campfires or open outdoor grilling permitted.

RRMT, Inc. is OPEN this weekend, today, Saturday February 28 and tomorrow, Sunday March 1 with park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend! Please note: RRMT, Inc. is now observing fall/winter park hours.

Happy Weekend!

While today is kinda gloomy, luckily the upcoming weekend forecast looks bright...nice temperatures and sunny skies anticipated for both Saturday and Sunday. And without further hesitation, we're ready to get the weekend started.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Sunday Morning...

NO rain overnight. However, believe it or not, yesterday afternoon, the skies turned really blue and out of nowhere, the bottom dropped out and it started raining. It ended up raining and misting on and off until skies cleared. When we went out to look in the rain gauge, it wasn't even enough to measure; however, the moisture was gladly soaked up by our dry soil.

This morning as of 7:50 a.m., we have a current temperature of 35 degrees. The sun is already out this morning and shining brightly. We are anticipating a very nice day...complete with temperatures in the upper 50's. We have received NO rain thus far today.

It's A Beautiful Day For Trail Riding!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Welcome Back....
We've Missed You After Being On A Hiatus For The Past Week And A Half!

The weekend is upon us & we can't wait...hope you can't either...let's get it started!

NO rain overnight. This morning as of 9:30 a.m., we have a current temperature of 58 degrees. It is cloudy this morning, but the skies are light, so maybe that sun will break thru after all sometime today. According to the forecast, today is going to be a very nice day...temperatures expected in the low 70's today. We have received NO rain thus far today.

The upcoming weekend looks very nice as well...sunny skies and temperatures anticipated in the upper 50's to low 60's on both Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be a beautiful Valentine's Day Weekend....get out of the house and enjoy it!

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall/moisture totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

***NO rain the week of Monday Feb. 2 - Sunday Feb. 8

This Past Week's Recap
*Sunday (8th)overnight--- 1/2 inch of rain received after TORO race
*Monday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight (10th)— 1 inch of rain received
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday (13th)-- NO RAIN as of 9:30 a.m.

Well we finally got a little moisture this past week....thankfully. However, it was so much needed that our soil just soaked it up. Due to such dry conditions, that moisture is long gone by now.

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility, including Bill's Woods & Pete's Gate. The recent moisture this week helped settle the dust earlier in the week, but without any further moisture, there'll be dust this weekend.

RED RIVER
While we did get some moisture this week...it was very minimal considering the dry conditions in the area. Thus the river still remains at a low level at this time. While you may ride in our creek area, be on the lookout for creeping amounts of quicksand towards the end of Mountain Creek as you can sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. The only place where mud/quicksand will possibly be an issue is in the creek and NOT on trails.

CREEK
Creek riding is not a problem as Mountain Creek is at a low level. The creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.
