TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Morning Snow Flurries...

For those of you curious...snow flurries blew in late last night and early this morning. It has stopped now and in all honesty, it really didn't amount to anything at all. (i.e...the ground is not covered, only some trees coated with snow) Just neat to see pretty flakes flying around outside...especially strange to witness something like this so late for March. All roads are clear with no problems reported. This morning as of 9 a.m., we have a current temperature of 33 degrees. It is cloudy, cold, and very windy today. Overnight in addition to the snow flurries, we received almost another 1/2 inch of rain. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail/weather conditions, please refer to yesterday's (Friday's) blog.

For those not wanting to get out of the house and brave the cold today...there's always tomorrow...in Texas, just wait a little while and the weather will change...no jokes, but tomorrow they are calling for temperatures back in the mid 60's...oh, the unpredictability of Texas weather!

Please note that the BURN BAN has now been lifted for Cooke County and thus at RRMT, Inc. However, extreme caution is advised due to windy conditions.

Despite the cold, RRMT, Inc. is OPEN this weekend, today, Saturday March 28 and tomorrow, Sunday March 29 with park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend! Please note: RRMT, Inc. is currently observing fall/winter park hours. However, starting April 1st...we extend our hours...8 a.m. to 8 p.m....but that doesn't start until April...so get ready for spring/summer hours to start soon next month!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hello Friday...

Well for those of you wondering...several thunderstorms and tornado sightings rolled thru our area last night. Luckily, no damage reported in our area, but we did get 1/2 inch of rain out of the big storm. This afternoon as of 4:15 p.m., we have a current temperature of 46 degrees. It is cloudy and overcast today with very windy conditions. We have received NO rain thus far today. If you have looked at the forecast yet for the weekend, you probably saw that it doesn't look too great...yes RAIN & SNOW SHOWERS (no joke) are predicted for tonight and early tomorrow morning. Do we expect any accumulation with the snow showers (if we even get any flurries)...NO! The ground is way too warm here for anything to stick. However, if we end up getting any precipitation, it will probably just make things messy & be short-lived as usual. The cold front has blown into the Red River Valley. While we are not expecting any really bad conditions (just cold weather), those traveling into northern Oklahoma should probably call ahead because parts of northern Oklahoma are currently under a blizzard warning (believe it or not for almost April)...ice and snow in parts of Oklahoma have already blown in. But again, we are not expecting anything to that extent for our area, just cooler temperatures, with a high of 50 expected for tomorrow (Saturday) with potential A.M. snow flurries and then mid to upper 60's anticipated for Sunday....Sunday is anticipated to be the best day for outdoor activity of the weekend.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL BE OPEN THIS WEEKEND REGARDLESS OF WEATHER CONDITIONS!

Have a nice weekend...here's our usual Friday comprehensive report!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday...Hello Weekend!

Well it is the last weekday of most of your spring breaks and if you haven't gotten outdoors yet...What are you waiting for? The time to ride and camp is THIS WEEKEND!

NO rain yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 11:15 a.m., we have a current temperature of 62 degrees. It had been cloudy this morning, but finally it looks as though the sun is gradually starting to break thru the clouds. Yesterday was a cooler day and today will be another cooler one...upper 60's expected and we'll possibly top out in low 70's if we're lucky. But get ready because the warm-up is on its way...upper 70's expected for both tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday. We have received NO rain thus far today. Time to kick off the weekend...

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP

overnight—NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 11:15 a.m.

While we received a little over an inch of rain week before last, we didn't get any moisture this past week.

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility, including Bill's Woods & Pete's Gate. With sunny skies & warm temperatures this week and the fact that we didn't get much moisture to begin with week before last, we're getting dry again...so dust is probably realistic. There are still a couple of puddles in some of the trails that riders will find that have not completely dried out yet.

RED RIVER
The Red River remains at a low level at this time. ** While you may ride in our creek area, be on the lookout for creeping amounts of quicksand towards the end of Mountain Creek as you can sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. ** Furthermore, please note that RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out!

P.S. Due to the # of appointment requests this week for spring break...many individuals have commented that our park answering machine continues to fill up with messages quickly and when you call, it will not let you leave a message because it says "memory full." If this occurs, no worries...just drop your name & telephone # and member ID # in an email to our park. This actually will help us greatly as we can access emails all throughout the day and are able to call you back in a more timely fashion if you email rather than leave a phone message anyways. If you are a non-member wishing to join so you may come this week, please indicate that detail in the email as well. Thank you.

NO rain yesterday, but overnight...some more much needed moisture was received...4 tenths of rain. This morning as of 9:30 a.m., we have a current temperature of 41 degrees. It is cloudy and overcast this morning. It was misting a little earlier this morning, but the mist has stopped now and it (the mist) wasn't even enough to measure. We are only expecting a high around 55 degrees or so. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail/weather conditions, please refer to yesterday's (Friday's) blog.

Please note that even due to the recent moisture, the county has not lifted the burn ban...thus, a BURN BAN is in EFFECT for Cooke County and thus at RRMT, Inc. NO OPEN pit campfires or OPEN outdoor grilling permitted.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday!

NO rain yesterday or overnight. This afternoon as of noon, we have a current temperature of 38 degrees. Should come as no surprise...today is just another cloudy and gloomy day...very cold. Unfortunately, we aren't expecting much of a warm-up...high 30's to very low 40's at the max. Surprisingly enough, we have received NO further rain than what we received on Wednesday night. However, the forecast is calling for additional precipitation, but we'll just have to wait and see. With the weekend upon us...it will definitely be nice in the fact that there'll be no dust, but it will be on the cooler side for those venturing out to Bulcher this weekend...highs expected in the mid-50's for tomorrow, Saturday with Sunday being a little bit warmer day as mid-60's are expected.

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight—2 tenths of rain
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight—1/2 inch of rain
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of noon

Finally some much needed moisture this week...at last!

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility, including Bill's Woods & Pete's Gate. With the recent moisture, NO dust...enjoy! The recent moisture coupled with damp conditions, while our soil has been soaking it up, we haven't seen sun in the past couple of days, so it has been hard for the trails to completely dry out...thus, don't be surprised to see puddles in particular parts of the trails. Sounds strange to suggest that you could finally possibly get muddy!

RED RIVER
The Red River remains at a low level at this time despite the recent rain we have received. ** While you may ride in our creek area, be on the lookout for creeping amounts of quicksand towards the end of Mountain Creek as you can sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. ** Furthermore, please note that RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out! It is possible that you could see mud both in the creek as well as on some of the trails.

CREEK
Creek riding is not a problem as Mountain Creek is at a low level. The creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

It's been a long, rainy, gloomy week. While tomorrow & Sunday do look to be on the cooler side, we are not anticipating any precipitation over the weekend. The precipitation that is anticipated for our area should come in late this afternoon/evening and move on out prior to in the morning. So at least, we are not anticipating rainy conditions this weekend. So get out of the house this weekend & on some trails! It's been a long week...you deserve a break.

Please note that due to extremely dry conditions...a BURN BAN is in EFFECT for Cooke County and thus at RRMT, Inc. NO OPEN pit campfires or OPEN outdoor grilling permitted.

RRMT, Inc. will be OPEN this weekend, tomorrow, Saturday March 14 and Sunday March 15 with park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend! More rain...

We didn't end up getting any additional rain yesterday, but we did get more last night...we received an additional 1/2 inch. We are NOT FLOODED here. We have been dry for so long...our soil is just soaking it right up. As of 1:30 p.m., today, we have a current temperature of 40 degrees. It is another cloudy, damp, and cold day. We're not expecting a warm-up today. We have received NO rain thus far today, but the forecast is calling for additional moisture this evening/tonight. We will update you tomorrow if we get any additional rain tonight. This upcoming weekend might be a little on the colder side, but it definitely will be some good riding weather...with the moisture this week...the trails will be perfect & there will be NO dust!

Good Monday Afternoon...

NO rain yesterday or overnight. As of 1:30 p.m., this afternoon, we have a current temperature of 75 degrees. However, it does not feel that warm because it is windy, windy today. On top of that the sun never made it out today and it has just kinda been gloomy all day so far as we have cloudy and overcast conditions. While the forecast is predicting some rain this week, we still haven't received any yet. A good soaking rain is actually what we need...it would help settle the dust and make riding conditions perfect. We'll keep you posted if we end up getting any moisture or not. At this time, we have received NO rain thus far today.
