TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Already Friday...

NO rain yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 7 a.m., we have a current temperature of 56 degrees. The sun is already out this morning as we are in for a beautiful day today with temperatures in the upper 80's for highs. If you haven't checked out the weekend forecast yet, you're missing out...as the upcoming weekend looks absolutely fabulous! Time to start thinking about the weekend...here's your usual Friday comprehensive report.

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 7 a.m.

* NO moisture this week in the Red River Valley. In fact, we haven't seen measurable rainfall in our area since May 15.

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN...on both the North (Bill's Woods) & East (Pete's Gate) sides of the park. Mountain Creek is now down to its usual level, except down toward the mouth of the Red River. Riders can cross Mountain Creek with ease now, but we advise everyone to still use caution as the terrain is especially different down in the creek due to the heavy rainfall we received in April. All trails are very dry & dust is to be expected. Due to big rains a month ago, we are still advising people of the following: Just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water has really changed a lot of our trail system, so we advise everyone to use extreme caution even when riding on trails that you were once familiar.

RED RIVER
Red River has receded some, but still remains extremely higher than usual at this time & bank to bank. NO sandbar. As a result of the high level of the river, a lot of water from the river has been pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek, preventing riders from riding all the way down Mountain Creek to the River.

CREEK
While riding in Mountain Creek is possible and crossing the creek is also possible...please use caution when in the creek, especially further down the creek toward the river. It is very possible to sink your recreational vehicle in the creek due to quicksand if not careful. Riding in the creek is at your own risk. Please note that if you get stuck, RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out!

NO BURN BAN for Cooke County or thus at RRMT, Inc.

RRMT, Inc. will be OPEN this weekend...tomorrow, Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31 with park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend! Please note: RRMT, Inc. is now observing spring/summer park hours.

Also, we wanted to let everyone know that we still have a variety of ATV T-Shirts Available For Sale! We've slashed prices in order to sell out of these t-shirts so we can make room for new park inventory. These t-shirts are 1 t-shirt for $6.00 or 2 t-shirts for $10.00. It is cloudy, but the sun is already trying to make its way out from behind the clouds, so today is looking bright. Today is going to be a gorgeous day...low to mid-80's expected for highs today. The forecast for the weekend looks equally as nice. We have received NO rain thus far today. Time to get the weekend started...

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Sunday night (May 10)-1 inch of rain
*Monday-- drizzle/mist rain in a.m., but nothing measurable to report
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 9:30 a.m.

* The last measurable/significant rainfall we received was last weekend...luckily this week, we have enjoyed some nice days to finally get on the roll to drying out.

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN...on both the North (Bill's Woods) & East (Pete's Gate) sides of the park. Mountain Creek has had time now to recede thankfully, but riders who frequent the park a lot will still notice though, that it still remains higher than usual. Crossing the creek is possible, but we advise everyone to be extremely careful, due to lurking quicksand. Riders will find the trails pretty much dried out except for that occasional puddle in shaded areas. NO dust! Due to big rains a little less than a month ago though, we are still advising people of the following: Just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water has really changed some of the trails, so we advise everyone to use extreme caution even when riding on trails that you were once familiar.

RED RIVER
Red River still remains high at this time. It will be a while before it goes down to its normally low level. Bank to bank & NO sandbar pretty much sums up the river. Furthermore, as you get further and further down Mountain Creek, you will see that the water level in Mountain Creek is even higher due to backed up water from the mouth of the river.

CREEK
While all of our trails are open & Mountain Creek can now be crossed...please use caution when in the creek. It is very possible to sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. It is still very mucky in the creek so use caution if you choose to ride in the creek down toward the river. Riding in the creek is at your own risk. For those that attempt to get in the creek, be on the lookout for creeping amounts of quicksand throughout Mountain Creek as you can sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. This is especially true the further and further you get down Mountain Creek toward the mouth of the Red River. Please note that if you get stuck, RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out!

This weekend is looking like it is going to be some of the best weather we have had in weeks...so get yourself out of the house, out of all your weekend obligations, & on your bike. Time for some riding and relaxation. See you in Bulcher soon!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Well yesterday mid-morning got off to a bad start...seems like on and off all morning long yesterday, it would start misting/drizzling rain...then stop, then start...then stop. Finally by lunch it had stopped and the skies actually cleared up and it was really enjoyable outside...in the 60's. Overnight...more rain...1 inch received. (Is it ever going to stop raining? You know what the old saying is...One way to end a drought is with a flood.) This morning it is currently raining as well. We'll have to keep you posted. It is cloudy and overcast as of 10 a.m....and we have a current temperature of 56 degrees. Don't expect much of a warm-up as today we are only supposed to be in the mid-60's for highs.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hello On Sunday...

NO rain yesterday, but a little more rain overnight...3 tenths. This morning as of 7:45 a.m., we have a current temperature of 59 degrees. It is cloudy and overcast this morning...NO sun. We are anticipating lower 70's for highs today. We have received NO rain thus far today. Additional thunderstorms are expected for our area, but we'll just have to wait and see when and/if they arrive. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail/weather conditions, please refer to Friday's blog.

Couple of weekend reminders:

* All of our trails on both the North (Bill's Woods) & East (Pete's Gate) sides of the park are back open. However, when accessing trails on the East side of Mountain Creek, we advise that you use extreme caution when crossing the creek. We highly recommend that you be very selective of where you choose to cross Mountain Creek at. Only cross at low water levels and after looking the area over first prior to crossing. It is still very mucky in the creek so use caution if you choose to ride in the creek and especially if you choose to cross the creek to the East Side of the park. Crossing the creek is at your own risk. Weekend Agenda: Riding & Camping At Your Favorite Destination...Bulcher, Texas

NO additional rain at all since our last blog on Wednesday evening. We actually have been enjoying awesome temperatures and bright sunny skies the last couple of days. This morning as of 8:45 a.m., we have a current temperature of 76 degrees. The sun is already out as we are anticipating highs for today to be around 90 degrees. We have received NO rain thus far today. The weekend outlook looks great...after a couple weeks of riding/camping withdrawal...
GET YOURSELF OUTDOORS THIS WEEKEND!

Time to kick off the weekend...

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight—3 tenths of rain
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 8:45 a.m.

*Well luckily not a whole lot of rain this week...thankfully we needed a break to dry out from last week's significant rainfall amount.

TRAILS
As of late this week, all of our trails on both the North (Bill's Woods) & East (Pete's Gate) sides of the park are back open again. The reason is that thru the week, Mountain Creek has receded more allowing creek crossing to be possible if careful. For the most part, all of the trails have had time to dry out...However, you will find that occasional one with a puddle, especially in more shaded areas. Trail riding currently is actually pretty awesome...good packed soil & NO dust! However, due to the rains from last week: Just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water can really change the terrain of trails, so use extreme caution when riding even on trails that you were once familiar.

RED RIVER
With last week's substantial rainfall, the Red River still remains pretty high and bank to bank. NO sandbar & as you get further and further down Mountain Creek, you will see that the water level in Mountain Creek is even higher due to backed up water from the mouth of the river.

CREEK
While all of our trails are now back open & Mountain Creek can now be crossed (if careful)...We highly recommend that you be very selective of where you choose to cross Mountain Creek at. Only cross at low water levels and after looking the area over first prior to crossing. It is still very mucky in the creek so use caution if you choose to ride in the creek and especially if you choose to cross the creek to the East Side of the park. Crossing the creek is at your own risk. For those that attempt to get in the creek, be on the lookout for creeping amounts of quicksand throughout Mountain Creek as you can sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Wednesday Evening...

Our apologizes for bringing you this blog so late this evening...Last night we received 3 tenths of rain. For once this week, we enjoyed sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 80's. We received NO rain today. We are expecting conditions tomorrow (Thursday) to be equally as nice...sunny skies, NO rain, and temperatures in the upper 80's, but we'll just have to wait and see.

We are continuing to dry out with this warm weather, but please be advised that just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water can really change the terrain of trails, so use caution when riding even on trails that you were once familiar.

Hopefully this week we can do some drying out (we have our fingers crossed on this one and this is assuming we don't get any additional rain)...so the creek can recede more. TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Cloudy & Overcast Sunday...

Yesterday it ended up misting rain on and off all day, but we received NO additional substantial moisture. NO rain overnight either. This morning as of 9:15 a.m., we have a current temperature of 56 degrees. It is cloudy and overcast this morning. We are only expecting mid to upper 60's for highs today. We have received NO rain thus far today. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail/weather conditions, please refer to Thursday, Friday, & Saturday's blogs.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Saturday Morning...

NO rain yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 7:45 a.m., we have a current temperature of 59 degrees. It is cloudy/overcast and actually foggy this morning. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail/weather conditions, please refer to Thursday & Friday's blogs.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy May...

The first day of May has arrived...NO additional rain yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 9:15 a.m., we have a current temperature of 72 degrees. It is cloudy and overcast this morning...NO sun. We are expecting lower 80's for highs today. We have received NO rain thus far today. Due to rainfall the last couple of days, we know everyone wants an update on park conditions...here it is...in the usual Friday comprehensive format.

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Wednesday--Approximately 9 1/2 inches received
overnight—Approximately 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches received = for a grand total of 12 to 14 inches received in total in Bulcher
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 9:15 a.m.

*Well when it rains, it pours...that's what it has been like in Bulcher this past week....

TRAILS
At this time, only our trails on the North side of the facility are open. The reason is that at this time, Mountain Creek is still not crossable. (Thus there is no access to the east side of the facility.) The water in Mountain Creek is still rolling along and it is NOT a good idea to cross Mountain Creek due to sand settlement & the possibility of getting so far across and then bogging down or drowning out your recreational vehicle. We didn't have a whole lot of sunshine yesterday so we really haven't had a chance to dry out yet even on our trails. Some of the trails will have standing puddles in them and others with more of a rock mixture should be fine. Don't anticipate any dust. And last but not least, just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water can really change the terrain of trails, so use caution when riding even on trails that you were once familiar.

RED RIVER
With our rains and recent rains out West, the Red River is bank to bank & rolling downstream at a pretty fast pace. NO sandbar & as you get further and further down Mountain Creek, you will see that the water level in Mountain Creek is even higher due to backed up water from the mouth of the river. For those that attempt to get in the creek (which is NOT ADVISABLE), be on the lookout for creeping amounts of quicksand throughout Mountain Creek as you can sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out!

CREEK
Creek riding is a current problem as Mountain Creek at this time is at a significantly higher level than usual. At this time, it is NOT advisable that you cross (or attempt to cross) the creek. If you choose to cross the creek, you do so at your own risk! Riding on the trails on the North side of the facility is only advisable at this time.

Well after all that's been said...if you've looked at the forecast for the weekend, temperature wise it’s going to be nice...upper 70's to lower 80's. However, late Saturday, they are calling for more rain for our area, but we'll just have to wait and see.

NO BURN BAN for Cooke County or thus at RRMT, Inc.

Due to current conditions, RRMT, Inc. Management made a decision yesterday morning (Thurs. 4/30/09) to cancel MEMBER APPRECIATION WEEKEND for this weekend. Thanks for everyone's patience & understanding in this matter. Once we look at the calendar, we will be releasing a new date for MEMBER APPRECIATION WEEKEND.

In case you are wondering...We will be OPEN this weekend despite the wet weekend outlook.
