TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Friday Afternoon....Time To Start The Weekend!

Overnight we can report that we received NO rain. Currently as of 12:40 p.m., we have sunny clear skies, warm temperatures, and NO rain thus far today. Off to GREAT start for another weekend that is upon us.

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--4 Tenths of Rain
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 12:40 p.m.

Per the rain report above, it is evident that we have really dry conditions at the park currently and that we anticipate will continue throughout the weekend.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions....

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN both on the North and East sides of the facility. Per our rain gauge recap above, conditions are extremely DRY at the park...we do not anticipate riders seeing any puddles or mud out on the actual trails. Expect a lot of dust, especially when riding in big groups.

RED RIVER
Believe it or not, its October and the Red River is still bank to bank. It still continues to recede with each passing week. The amount of water that the river has pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek (where it joins the Red River) continues to get smaller and smaller.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek gets smaller and smaller as time passes. As a result, more riders are now able to ride in the creek all the way to the river by getting up on a small strip of land on the side of the bank of the creek. See picture above...However, we still must emphasize that there is WATER, MUD, and QUICKSAND in the creek and getting stuck is still very much a possibility...See picture below...

Therefore, please use caution when riding in the furtherest part of Mountain Creek down towards the Red River. Nevertheless, for sure, people will discover that they can ride the majority of the way there in the creek, but once they get down closer to the river, they will have to get out of the creek upon dry land and go the rest of the way if they are desiring to get to the river. Because the creek is very much rideable in the majority of it, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

In summary, current conditions at the park are good....even though its October, we have seem to be having AWESOME cool mornings, warm temperatures during the afternoons, and then GREAT cool weather in the evenings for camping! So load up your bike, gear, and camping supplies and hit the open road to Bulcher where its just You, Nature, and the Great Outdoors!

Here's your final update for the evening as of 11 p.m....nice weather again today with NO rain. Hope to see you all this weekend!

We will be OPEN this weekend both tomorrow, Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please note that the park is NOW observing fall/winter hours and thereby all riding ceases at 6 p.m.!

Happy Trails,
