TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday Evening...Officially The Weekend Now!

NO rain overnight or today. Today was a nice day...those at the park enjoyed sunny skies, but despite the sun...it did feel a little colder today due to the wind. Now that the weekend is underway...weather and trail conditions never looked better...tomorrow (Saturday) we are anticipating awesome weather...sunny with temperatures in the upper 60's...in fact, we saw one report stating we might even see 70! Sunday should be equally as nice...sunny skies and low to mid 60's. Whichever day of the weekend you choose...they both look great. We look forward to seeing you in Bulcher this weekend. As for your comprehensive report...enjoy!

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall/moisture totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday-- Light rain mist; however, nothing measurable
overnight-- NO RAIN...moisture freezing overnight creating ICY CONDITIONS
* Tuesday-- Rain drizzle
overnight—Sleet/freezing rain...creating ICY CONDITIONS
* Wednesday--ICY CONDITIONS in a.m.
overnight—NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 10:20 p.m.

The bulk of the moisture we received this week was via freezing rain. We didn't get a huge amount of moisture, just enough to make things messy for Tuesday and Wednesday and close schools in our area both days. Thankfully while not a lot...the moisture was just perfect to settle the dust!

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility, including Bill's Woods & Pete's Gate. The recent moisture this week helped settle the dust....a weekend trail riding without dust....your dream come true!

RED RIVER
While we did get moisture this week...it was not substantial enough to affect Red River levels. Thus the river still remains at a low level at this time. While you may ride in our creek area, be on the lookout for creeping amounts of quicksand towards the end of Mountain Creek as you can sink your recreational vehicle if not careful. The only place where mud/quicksand will possibly be an issue is in the creek and NOT on trails.

CREEK
Creek riding is not a problem as Mountain Creek is at a low level. The creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

Please note that due to extremely dry conditions...a BURN BAN is now in EFFECT for Cooke County and thus at RRMT, Inc. NO open pit campfires or open outdoor grilling permitted.

RRMT, Inc. will be OPEN this weekend, tomorrow, Saturday January 31 and Sunday February 1 with park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend! Please note: RRMT, Inc. is now observing fall/winter park hours.

Don't forget the annual TORO Race put on by the Red River Dirt Riders is just around the corner....Sunday, February 8! Please note that the park will be CLOSED Monday, February 2 - Sunday, February 8 for race prep & race.

Have a great weekend!

P.S. Since we are bringing you today's blog so late this evening...there will NOT be a blog tomorrow, Saturday, but our blog will return on Sunday morning.
