TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Massive Amounts of Rain Received & Current High Water Conditions...

Well we needed some rain, but not this much rain. Yesterday and overnight, we received a total of 12-14 inches of rain! Let us repeat...12 to 14 inches. No, that's not a typo on our part. The amount of rain we received in a short period of time is unbelievable. Needless to say, we can summarize a few things real quick for the curious reader...Mountain Creek is running bank to bank...it is NOT even crossable at this time...unless of course, you have a boat. NO recreational vehicle is going to cross the creek unless it has a snorkel or can float :-)

The two sandpits are completely under water....you can't even see the sand. Trails once located by bodies of water are now under water themselves. Furthermore, Kathy's Creek has flooded out of its banks...for those of you who know where that is (right down from "Our Mountain")...making it impossible to go from the second gate area (pavilions) up to the RRMT, Inc.'s owners house. With conditions like they are now, we haven't even attempted to drive down to the river to see what it looks like. Also, at one point, water was so high under that old bridge in the old main camp area (down by the original sand pit)....that the water looked as though it could go over that bridge, but never did.

At 8 a.m., we have a current temperature of 61 degrees. It is sunny out already this morning. Temperature-wise it should be a nice day...with temperatures up around 80 degrees expected. We have not received any further rain this morning. If we get any additional rain, we will keep you posted.

We are hoping to have some pictures available online on this blog later...but please be patient with us as we are out this morning assessing the water conditions. So you may want to check back periodically throughout the day for pictures and further updates.

With this much moisture, NO BURN BAN for Cooke County or thus at RRMT, Inc.

Due to current conditions, RRMT, Inc. Management made a decision this morning to cancel MEMBER APPRECIATION WEEKEND for this weekend. It will be rescheduled for a weekend in the future. We just didn't think it was fair to have it this weekend with conditions like they are. Thanks for everyone's patience & understanding in this matter. Once we look at the calendar, we will be releasing a new date for MEMBER APPRECIATION WEEKEND.

At this time, we are still planning to be OPEN this weekend.

RRMT, Inc. will be OPEN this weekend Saturday May 2 and Sunday May 3 with park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend! Please note: RRMT, Inc. is now observing spring/summer park hours.
