TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's FRIDAY....we are FINALLY on our way to the weekend...

Overnight we can report that we received NO rain. This morning as of 7:55 a.m., we already have clear, sunny skies, and NO rain thus far today.

Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 7:55 a.m.

While we have had no rain this week thus far, if you remember back, last weekend...last Saturday (August 18) we had 1/2 inch and last Saturday night/early Sunday (August 19), we received 1 tenth of rain. That is all we have had. And that was just enough a week ago to settle the dust. Dust is not as bad currently has it had been prior to the showers last weekend, but without any rain this week, the dust is picking up again. One thing that we have been experiencing the past few days at the park is cool breezes...which have been awesome because even though we have had warm temperatures, these cool winds have helped not make it feel so hot....also, these cool breezes are one early sign that fall weather is on its way hopefully soon...it may not be this weekend...but hopefully by next weekend which is already Labor Day Weekend.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions....

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN both on the North and East sides of the facility. Puddles on trails are not going to be a problem for you because...those brief rain showers from last week were so badly needed that the RED RIVER soil just asborbed them immediately. So riding should be good...again, possibly some dust, but that is really about it.

RED RIVER
Well August is almost over & still the river is up in comparison to other summer seasons. The Red River is still bank to bank, but again slowly receding. As a result...there is still a fair amount of water that the river is pushing up into the mouth of Mountain Creek.

CREEK
As a result of a fair amount of water being pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek due to the Red River being bank to bank...it is still NOT possible to ride ALL THE WAY in the creek from the sand pit at the old campgrounds all the way to the river. People will find that they can ride the majority of the way there. But right down at the end of the creek, it is not advisable that you try to ride in because of WATER, MUD, and QUICKSAND. But again, riders will find that they have plenty of area in the creek to ride in overall...making for a fun day of riding. Also, as a result of people being able to ride in the creek...the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access trails on both the North and East sides of the property.

In summary, conditions at RRMT, Inc. in Bulcher are G-R-E-A-T. We are anticipating another upcoming great weekend of weather for trail riding. We hope you can make it out this weekend to enjoy the outdoors & breathtaking views that this facility has to offer. Grab a road map (one that actually has Bulcher on it)...and head on out to the park to start your weekend off the right way.

Here's your final update for the day as of 9:30 p.m....those at the park today enjoyed sunny skies and NO rain.

We will be OPEN this weekend, both tomorrow, Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Happy Trails,
RRMT, Inc. Staff
