TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Tuesday Morning To Ya...

Per where our blog left off yesterday evening, we checked the rain gauge this morning and we received a total of 4 tenths of rain late yesterday evening/overnight...which will help settle the dust and make trail riding perfect.

This morning as of 8:20 a.m., we have sunny, clear skies, and NO rain thus far today. We will probably have warm temperatures this afternoon, but other than that, riding should be great!

As of 5:15 p.m., those at the park today enjoyed nice weather...sunny, clear skies, and warm temperatures. This afternoon, we did have a brief rain shower which only amounted to 2 tenths of rain in the gauge. Thus, overall the weather was good.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's the start of another week...Monday again!

We can report that overnight we received NO rain. (It seems like that every place but Bulcher received rain late yesterday afternoon/overnight) This morning as of 8 a.m., the sun is already out, we have clear skies, and NO rain thus far today. Looks like its going to be a beautiful day, despite the warm temperatures we'll probably have later this afternoon.

As of 5:20 p.m., here's your evening update...today we had nice weather at the park...sunny, clear skies, warm temperatures, and NO rain today. But currently the sky looks really blue across the river and looks as though we might be in for some rain possibly this evening. However, looks could be deceiving and we may end up getting no moisture....but we'll update you on all that first thing in the morning when we post our blog.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's Finally The Weekend!

We can report that we had NO rain overnight. As of 8:45 a.m. this Saturday morning, it is somewhat cloudy this morning, which is providing us with cooler temperatures...very nice! But we anticipate the sun coming out later this morning/early afternoon and warming things up again. NO rain thus far today. Looks like it is going to be beautiful weather for trail riding.

We are OPEN today, Saturday, July 28, with hours of operation today of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

As of 7:55 p.m., here is your evening update...today was a great day for riding...warm weather & sunny skies. We did have some sprinkles of rain earlier in the day...but it wasn't much at all...in fact, not even enough to be accounted for in the rain gauge. Looking forward to another great day of weather & riding tomorrow. For those of you that didn't get to make it out today, hope to see you tomorrow.

Hope to see everyone in Bulcher this weekend.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's Friday...we can officially start thinking about the weekend now.

We had NO rain overnight. As of 7:35 a.m., it is a partly cloudy and overcast this morning. NO rain thus far today. We imagine that the sun will come out and it will warm up today, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Monday--NO RAIN
late afternoon/overnight-- 1 inch total
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 7:35 a.m.

As you can tell, it has been a pretty dry week in Bulcher thus far other than the 1 inch of rain that we got earlier in the week. But that 1 inch of rain is long gone by now and did no more than settle the dust for a while. So as a result of the dry, warm conditions, trail riding should be good. No puddles to worry about. Much like last weekend, riders may experience some dust though.

The next question you're probably wanting to know about is how is the creek? This week's dry, warm conditions has allowed the creek to further dry out. However, if you refer to last Saturday's Photo Frenzy blog...conditions in the parts of the creek down by the river are still the same. Because there was so much water backed up in the creek, it was just extremely saturated. Therefore, it is just taking the creek a long time to completely dry out. Therefore, as stated before, you may ride in most parts of the creek. However, once you get into parts of the creek that are closer to the mouth of the river, these areas it is NOT advisable that you ride in because they are still very muddy & you risk getting stuck in QUICKSAND. Furthermore, the creek is very much crossable (in parts of the creek that you can ride in) and as a result, ALL of the park's trails on both the North and East sides are OPEN for general riding.

For those of you wanting to know about the river...it is still bank to bank, but it has really gone down a lot. We imagine that it will continue to recede as our warm weather continues into August.

Well that is a recap for everyone. Overall, the outlook for this weekend looks bright. However, since it is currently cloudy and overcast, we will keep you posted on if we have any rain today...but other than that, what are you waiting for?

One last update for everyone as of 5:30 p.m. this evening...one word describes today...GORGEOUS! The weather ended up being PERFECT. NO rain, sunny skies...little warm...but hey, after all it is July. So if this weather stays the same...we're all in for a great weekend!

Hope to see you all out on the trails in Bulcher this weekend. We will be OPEN both Saturday & Sunday with hours each day of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Thursday Morning To Ya...

We can report that overnight we had NO rain. This morning as of 9 a.m. we have clear, sunny skies, and NO rain thus far today. Looks like it is going to be another really nice day except this afternoon, we'll probably have some pretty warm temperatures. Other than that...it's a great day for riding.

Here's your evening update as of 6 p.m...again another warm, sunny day with NO rain. Apparently many of you in the DFW area saw some rain today, but that is definitely NOT the case here. Looks like we will be gearing up for a great outlook on the upcoming weekend here in Bulcher. Tomorrow's blog will include complete details about the creek, river, park trails, etc. in order to help everyone plan their weekends accordingly.

But just as a reminder...we will be OPEN this coming weekend, Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Wednesday...We've made it half way thru the week...

We had NO rain overnight. This morning as of 9 a.m., we have clear, sunny skies, and NO rain thus far today. This morning we did have dew on the ground, but it will definitely be gone here soon since the temperatures will be warming up & the sun is out. Looks like it going to be another terrific day for riding!

As of 6:10 p.m....the same 'ole story...just another day...as predicted...NO rain today, sunny conditions, and warm temperatures. This continual warm, sunny weather is beneficial in that it is helping the creek to gradually dry out. But please be AWARE...it is still very muddy (QUICKSAND) in parts of the creek area near where the mouth of the creek and the river meet.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Here's Tuesday's Report...

Yesterday prior to leaving work around 5:15 p.m., we had received 8 tenths of rain at the park. This morning, we arrived to find that we had received a little more rain yesterday evening, for a total of 1 inch of rain yesterday/overnight.

As of 10:50 a.m., we have clear, sunny skies, and NO rain thus far today. Look like it is going to be a beautiful day. The 1 inch of rain that we received helped settle the dust...It's going to be a great day for riding!

Here's your final update for the evening as of 8:25 p.m., today turned out to be a beautiful day with clear, sunny skies, NO rain, and warm temperatures. Hopefully the weather stays this nice for the upcoming weekend.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's the start of another week...Monday already.

We can report this morning that we had NO rain overnight. As of 8:15 a.m. this morning, we have clear, sunny skies, and NO rain thus far today. Looks like today will be another beautiful day with warm temperatures. Be sure to check out the pictures (if you haven't already) from Saturday since the conditions haven't changed.

As of 5:15 p.m. we are able to provide your evening update...it is probably different than you expected...we had a good day overall for most part of the afternoon, then then late this afternoon/early evening, the skies all of a sudden became dark and overcast and it started raining. Thus far we have received 8 tenths but it is still raining now so we won't be able to give you a complete rainfall total until tomorrow morning when we check it again.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Morning.

We are happy to report that we had NO rain overnight. This morning as of 8:25 a.m., we have clear, sunny skies, and NO rain thus far today. Looks like we are going to have a repeat of yesterday's gorgeous weather!

** Also, please note that since the weather thus far today is just the same as yesterday's, BE SURE TO GO TO THE "Photo Frenzy" BLOG directly under this blog. We put in a long day yesterday working at the park and then staying late in order to spend all the time needed in order to update everyone on what the conditions were like from yesterday, so it is important that everyone use those as a guide for today's conditions since they are exactly the same.

Here's your evening update...as of 7:35 p.m., today's weather was just as predicted...clear, sunny skies, NO rain, and warm temperatures. Those of you that weren't able to make it out to Bulcher missed some good riding.

** Reminder: We are OPEN today, Sunday, July 22, with hours of operation of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

PHOTO FRENZY

Dear Fellow RRMT, Inc. Blog Readers...per our blog on Thursday, we have heard everyone's desire to see more pictures posted....so here you go...we really feel that the pictures really depict the conditions at the park....Please note that all of these photos were taken today, Saturday, July 21.

ENJOY!

These first four pictures pretty much sum up the conditions that can be found on the TRAILS at RRMT, Inc. Per our blogs and the pictures, you can see that with NO rain this week except for those brief rain sprinkles we received today, we have had no moisture this week. So out on the trails, riding will be good. In fact, we even happened to capture this picture below that in fact, it is even so dry out on the trails that it is DUSTY...the picture below proves it...

These dry, dusty conditions are typical of what can be found out on the TRAILS. However, we also took the three pictures below of the random dried up mud puddles and then one bigger puddle that we did encounter on our ride today. But other than these three mud/puddles, we did not find any other mud or puddles out on the TRAILS themselves. See below...

Now onto the ever popular question of how's the creek & what does it look like? We really feel that the pictures speak for themselves. While we have addressed the fact that the trails are dry....the part of the creek down closer to the Red River is a different story. As we have been reporting...parts of the creek up by the main old campgrounds by the sand pit area and by the second gate area...no problem riding in these parts of the creek. It is the other parts of the creek area on down past Pump Jack Hill that we advise people do NOT ride in. Even though the water level has receded (which you will see from the pictures below), the creek is still very MUDDY and is still trying to completely dry out from all the water that has been backed up in there. As a result, many riders are getting their recreational vehicles stuck in this part of the creek area.

We've said it numerous times, but we'll say it again...QUICKSAND at RRMT, Inc. is NOT a myth. It really does exist. In fact, the people that got this recreational vehicle below stuck will testify to that. Luckily, this recreational vehicle was finally able to get un-stuck and the riders were well on their way to finally being able to enjoy a day of riding after getting out of this mess. But getting stuck is NOT fun, and even the most experienced riders, much like this one that never had got stuck before, are capable of getting stuck, because the wet clay in our creek area...it creeps up on you before you realize that your too far into it. And FYI...you see the shovel in the picture by this recreational vehicle...we will assure you that it took much more than this shovel to finally get this thing out of this muddy mess.

Also, the other pictures below sum up how the creek looks closer down to the river. Again, the entire creek area does not look like this. It is only the parts of the creek area down closer to the river. To see pictures of the creek area that are extremely muddy...see below:

These are all pictures taken of the creek down close to the mouth of where the Red River and the creek meet. You will also see pictures of the Red River (yes, the river's water level is going down...slowly but surely).

Now that we have shown pictures of the creek that are still muddy and where riding is not advisable...now we can emphasize that parts of the creek that are away from the river, people can ride in and also in these areas, riders can cross the creek to access the trails on the east side of the park. The following pictures tell the story and even show that the other creek area parts are pleasant. All but the first picture posted was taken by Pump Jack Hill. If you go back and look at the pictures posted on our blogs from June 28th and July 2nd, we feel that you will be amazed at what it use to look like with all the water in that area and now it is quite different with riding in this part of the creek...no problem.

And lastly, we end this photo blog with a picture of the beloved sand pit area....many riders enjoyed this section of the park today...

In summary, after posting all these pictures, we hope that everyone gets a feel for what conditions are like at RRMT, Inc. But basically in a nutshell, the trails are great...(maybe a little dusty), but better than being water logged. ALL trails are open on both the north and east sides as the creek can be easily crossed in many areas as people may ride in the majority of the creek area. However, the parts of the creek area that are down closer to the river and that are still muddy (and where QUICKSAND lurks), it is NOT advisable that you ride in these areas due to giving these parts of the creek additional time to completely dry out.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's Saturday....Time To Go Riding!

We can report that overnight we received NO rain. As of 7:10 a.m. this morning, it looks as though it’s going to be a gorgeous day...clear skies & the sun is already breaking thru right now. NO rain thus far this morning. It will probably get a little warm (temperature-wise) later on this afternoon, but other than that, looks like it is going to be a PERFECT day for some trail riding in Bulcher.

** Just as a reminder…We are OPEN today, Saturday, July 21 with hours of operation of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Here's your evening update as of 10:10 p.m.....today's weather was GREAT! We had two brief rain showers...one around 2 p.m. and then the other around 7 p.m. this evening. But when we say brief....we really mean "BRIEF..." In fact calling it a rain shower is really misleading...it was more like "rain sprinkles." It wasn't even enough to measure in the rain gauge. It was just perfect to cool everyone off. So overall, today ended up being a gorgeous day...clear, sunny skies, and warm temperatures. Hopefully we'll have a repeat of today's weather tomorrow. To see photos of today's weather conditions and read more in-depth about trail conditions, be sure to check out the "Photo Frenzy" blog. Hope those of you that didn't make it out the park today, can make it out to Bulcher tomorrow.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday To Everyone...We have already received numerous inquiries about the weather via email and telephone, so we know that many of you are trying to plan your weekend accordingly....so we will do our best to give you the most up-to-date & comprehensive information in order to assist with your weekend plans.

First and foremost, we received NO rain overnight. As of 12:15 p.m. today, we have clear, sunny skies, and NO rain thus far today. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day....just warm temperatures...but then again, that's a given for July in Texas.

Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 7:15 p.m.

********* See a pattern here with this week's weather conditions?

So as you can tell....its been a very DRY week here at the park. You are not going to have to worry about puddles. So now that we have emphasized that....we do not have any photos to post today...but we will have photos to post tomorrow evening. We didn't know if the photos were helpful....but lately we have been receiving a lot of feedback that everyone loves the photos...so we will try to keep them coming now that we know that people like them. We haven't taken any pictures of anything this week, because we haven't received any rain.....but again, we'll have some posted tomorrow.

But to address another question we have been getting..."how's the creek?" You can definitely ride in parts of the creek. It is also crossable currently except in the few areas closer down to the mouth of the Red River. Due to all the DRY & WARM conditions this past week, the water level in the creek is receding...but still everyone must remember, just because the water in the creek area is receding doesn't necessarily mean that you can ride in ALL areas of the creek (i.e. areas where there was a lot of water standing before)....the creek (closer to the Red River) is still drying out and therefore, parts of the creek are still muddy....and you want to be sure to watch for QUICKSAND in the creek area where large amounts of water was once standing. Quicksand will be inevitable in these areas until the creek is completely dried out.

Onto the next question we have been receiving..."how's the river?" The river still has a lot of water in it and it is still backing up water into parts of the creek area. As a result, there is still no sandbar in sight. But all being said, the river has actually gone down a lot. The pictures we took of the Red River a couple of weeks ago (that are posted on our blog), was actually the river at its peak...so it has done nothing but recede since then. But then again, to most of you that don't see it on a daily basis, it still is going to seem like a lot of water...but to us, its just a slow & gradual process that will take some time.

So with that all being said, ALL of our trails (both on the North & East sides) in the entire park are OPEN & easily ACCESSIBLE because the creek can be crossed easily especially by the main old campgrounds down by the sand pit area and by the creek by the 2nd gate area.

Therefore, in summary, per our posting, we are looking at riding conditions being really good this weekend. The only thing will be the warm temperatures...might get a little warm in the heat of the afternoons...but you'll just have to ride thru the creek to cool off.

Here's everyone's evening update as of 7:15 p.m....according to the news, many of you in the DFW metroplex area received some rain this afternoon/evening. This is NOT the case at the park. As of this evening, we all enjoyed a beautiful day at the park...sunny, clear skies and NO rain thus far today. Hopefully the weather will stay this pretty on through the weekend. If so, we all should be in for some good riding.

** Just a reminder...we will be OPEN tomorrow, Sat. July 21st, and Sun. July 22nd with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m....Hope to see you all in Bulcher this weekend.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Morning!

Since our last blog was yesterday afternoon, it is essential that we update everyone on how yesterday ended up turning out...yesterday, the weather ended up being beautiful....NO rain yesterday afternoon and NONE overnight.

As of 8 a.m. this morning, NO rain thus far today & it looks as though it is going to be a gorgeous day. The sun is out and shining & we have clear skies. The only downside to today's weather is according to the weather, it is supposed to get really hot today...in the 90's. Other than that, all trail riding should be great... since the sun was out yesterday afternoon and today, we were able to dry out from our recent showers.

** Our park is OPEN today (Sunday, July 15th) with hours today of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Here's your evening update as of 7:05 p.m., today was a great day for riding..NO rain and beautiful weather even though it did up being hot.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's the weekend finally...

First and foremost, since our last blog was from yesterday afternoon, it is essential that we update you on how the conditions turned out yesterday. After 2:30 p.m., it ended up clearing off for a little while and then it would cloudy back up again and we would get a brief shower. From 2:30 p.m. on thru the rest of yesterday, we got 2 additional tenths of rain. Therefore, in total yesterday, we received one inch of rain.

As of 7:50 a.m. this morning, we received NO rain overnight. Yeah! However, this morning we look out and it is extremely fogging and damp outside. And no doubt it is muddy due to the rain we received yesterday.

** Our park is OPEN today (Saturday, July 14th) with hours today of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Update as of 2:20 p.m....today has turned out to be beautiful weather despite a dreary start. NO rain today thus far. The sun is out and shining, we have clear skies, and are enjoying warm temperatures.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday To Ya...

If you are reading this, you are probably already thinking about the weekend & where you want to go ride ...well you're in luck...

It's PHOTO FRIDAY here on our blog so you will have the most up-to-date coverage in order to make your weekend riding plans.

As of 8:20 a.m., we received 3 tenths of rain overnight. Currently, we look out & its raining right now. Don't know if the rain has set in for the day or if in the afternoon the sun will come out and it might clear up...its Texas...so who knows...it could be doing something one minute and then the weather could be totally opposite in the blink of the eye. We will keep you posted on the current weather...and hopefully provide you a noon update on current rainfall totals.

But prior to leading up to today's rain...yesterday we took several pictures at the park so you all could observe the conditions for yourselves. Hope you enjoy....

This first picture is taken of one of our trails at the park. When riding yesterday, we found on average this is what the majority of the TRAILS look like currently.....in good riding condition.

While we found the trails to be in pretty good shape, we did see puddles especially over in the 2nd gate campground area....we don't know if its just the type of dirt that's over there that makes it more sloppy or what...but we saw these 2 puddles standing. We also noticed that it was somewhat swampy in the low lying grass areas over in the 2nd gate area. The old main gate campground area; however, there were no problems with...we didn't see any puddles standing over there at all. Hopefully this will address the questions we have been receiving in regards to campground area conditions.

Above are several pictures of the sand pit area down by the old main campgrounds. As you can see...there is a big puddle by the bowl area...but other than that...no problem with being able to ride in this area...our sand just soaks the water right up.

These two photos above are in the sand pit area looking out towards the first creek crossing. As you can tell, the creek is definitely crossable here. While the Red River is still flowing bank to bank, a tremendous amount of water in the creek area overall has receded. The water level is still high to the first curve in the creek down by the mouth of the Red River, but in all other areas it has receded. But due to the creek still trying to dry out, you are only able to ride in the creek up until the 2nd gate area because the creek is so muddy. In fact, in this picture, you can see that even by the first creek crossing, it is muddy. So the moral of the story might be that since its raining now and who knows how much it will rain today (we'll have to keep you posted) we think it’s a given that you will probably get muddy at the park. You might not get muddy necessarily on trails, but in the creek area if you decide to ride thru the water crossings some.

These last two pictures are of the creek by the 2nd gate area. As you can see in one of the photos...a lawn chair in the distance. Yesterday was a gorgeous day to bask in the warm, sunny weather and many enjoyed the beach like atmosphere while visiting RRMT, Inc.

Therefore, all those picture were taken yesterday afternoon and provide you with a glimpse of the conditions leading up to today. We will watch the weather for you today and post at noon on the rain conditions & how much we received. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it won't be much. Hopefully the sun will come out and we'll dry out the rest of the day, but you never can tell.

But just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- 3 tenths
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--1 inch & 4 tenths
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday--NO RAIN
overnight-- 3 tenths
* Friday-- 8 tenths as of 2:30 p.m.

But we again wanted to emphasize that at this time, ALL of our trails are OPEN because since the creek can be crossed, all of our trails on both the east & north sides can be easily accessed.

WE WILL FOR SURE BE OPEN THIS WEEKEND, SAT. July 14th & SUN. July 15th, but keep checking our blog for weather/trail updates.

** Here's your noon update...even though we're just now getting it posted as of 2:30 p.m. We wanted to wait a little while in order to give you the most up-to-date conditions. It has now stopped raining. Looking at the rain gauge, we received 8 tenths. It looks now as though it is trying to clear off. The sun is not out yet but it is trying to break thru the clouds. We'll see how much drying out it can do before the day is over. But it looks like right now, that it will be a bit muddier than once expected. But to what extent, we don't know yet. Depends on what the rest of the day ends up being like. We will do our best to try to update you late this evening. However, you will for sure have an update first thing a.m. tomorrow morning....but regardless, we will be OPEN this weekend with hours of operation both Saturday and Sunday of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Here's your evening update as of 8:20 p.m., today we received NO rain. Yeah! It was a beautiful day....clear and sunny skies. However, it was really hot today though. TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Morning...

Here's your update as of 8:15 a.m., we received 1 inch and 4 tenths of rain overnight. From looking at the ground this morning, it must have come a pretty hard rain because the dirt looks pretty packed. As a result, there really aren't many if any puddles this morning, as the Red River soil soaked it up pretty well.

Currently the sun is shining, we are enjoying clear skies, and we have had NO rain thus far today. Looks like it is going to be a great day for riding because the rain shower we received was just enough to cool things off and make the trails perfect & in good condition.

As for your evening update at 5:55 p.m., we received NO rain today at the park as we enjoyed clear, sunny skies. If the weather stays the same, we all can look forward to a great weekend on the trails in Bulcher. However, we will do our best to get some pictures posted prior to the weekend so everyone can observe the trail conditions. Have a great evening!

Here's your evening update for today as of 5:15 p.m., today's weather topped the 90 degree mark. It turned out to be very humid today at the park. We had a few sprinkles of rain this afternoon but it didn't amount to anything as it wasn't even enough to measure in the rain gauge.

Then it cleared off and was just fine for the rest of the evening/night.

For your final update of the day...as of 9 p.m., we received NO rain today & enjoyed warm temperatures and beautiful weather. Hopefully the weather stays this pretty the rest of the week and thru the upcoming weekend. If so, riding will be great.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS'

Good Saturday Morning To Ya!

As of 6:50 a.m., we had NO rain overnight. We are already enjoying clear skies (with no rain in sight) which we feel will turn off sunny later in the morning. It looks as though it is going to be a G-R-E-A-T day for trail riding.

Update as of 6:50 p.m....today was a great day for trail riding. At the park, we had clear sunny skies, warm weather, and NO rain. There will be no more updates this evening, but we will be sure to update everyone first thing in the morning so those of you that missed out on trail riding today can check the weather/trail conditions tomorrow if you are thinking of venturing out to the park.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Morning Fellow RRMT, Inc. Blog Readers...(we have already received some great feedback on this new tool so we know many of you are already avid readers of our new blog)

Be sure to check out my blog from yesterday, Thursday. I didn't get it posted until late last night, but it is really long and thus very informative...so be sure to check it out.

Update as of 8:48 a.m. this morning, the sun is out and already shining this morning. We received NO rain overnight and currently we have clear skies, so hopefully no rain today, but we'll keep you posted throughout the day.

Here's your noon update if you are looking for one...as of 1 p.m. this afternoon, we are enjoying sunny skies & warm temperatures. The weather is beautiful today. Let's hope this continues throughout the weekend.

Here's everyone's evening & final update for today (as of 5:40 p.m.). We had NO rain today and the weather was just gorgeous...clear skies & sunny weather. We noticed that while there is still a large amount of water in the creek from Pump Jack Hill to where it meets the Red River...a fair amount of water has receded due to our warm temperatures and no rainy conditions over the past week. People can ride in the creek from the old main campground sand pits all the way in the creek past the 2nd gate area up until you reach Pump Jack Hill. (In fact, we seen many riding in this part of the creek today) Even where water has receded on the other side of the 2nd gate area in the creek, it is still not advisable that you ride in the creek past that point not only because of water but where water has receded, there still remains a lot of mud in the creek that has to dry out. Beware of Quicksand...it does exist! But again, just to emphasize, mud is only an issue in this further part of the creek where the water level is starting to recede. Mud is NOT an issue on TRAILS!

But again, the only thing closed is being able to ride in the creek all the way to the Red River. All of our trails are OPEN. On all of the trails we checked today, the random puddles that once existed in some of the trails (under shade trees where the sun couldn't get to), are now virtually extinct. In fact, bizarre as it may sound...its starting to even be a bit dusty on some of the trails now. The dirt/sand at RRMT, Inc. soaks it up so that a week without rain...and we start to get dusty. But again, the dust is not bad by any means. So...definitely good riding is in store this weekend for all those that venture out to the park as the trails are in good condition.

Hope to see you all out on the trails at RRMT, Inc. this weekend.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hi Everyone....you are all getting an "end of the day" update, but tomorrow I can assure you there will be periodic updates posted (hopefully morning, noon, and early evening) to aid many of you in making your weekend riding plans.

The first thing this morning, things at RRMT, Inc. looked pretty gloomy. Several hours this morning before lunch it looked like it could rain at any moment. And in fact, this morning, we actually received a few sprinkles of rain. But basically the rain didn't amount to anything at all...it wasn't even enough to even measure in the rain gauge. Then around lunch, things cleared off and the rest of the day we enjoyed clear, sunny skies. So thus, we received NO measurable amount of rain today as of 9:35 p.m. this evening.

Just to clarify we are NOT FLOODED! We keep getting many emails and telephone calls asking about how flooded we are....this is not the case. The only thing is that toward the end of the creek where it meets the Red River, there is a lot of water pushed back up in there...this water is self-contained in the creek alone...it is not getting out on the property. So the only thing unrideable is that you cannot ride in the creek all the way to the Red River. Currently the creek is crossable all the way from the old main sand pit campgrounds all the way to the curve under Pump Jack Hill. The Red River is still flowing bank to bank and backing water up in the creek up till Pump Jack Hill. So thus, water in the creek has receded significantly. All of our trails are OPEN. None of our trails are flooded. Also, because the creek is crossable from the old main sand pit campgrounds to down past the creek that runs by the 2nd gate area, there are plenty of places where people can cross to access the trails across the creek on the east side of the property. Therefore, the Dennis, Kewanee Oil Camp, and trails all over by the Red Bull Barn again can be accessed very easily now due to low creek levels at the beginning of the creek area away from the mouth of the Red River. Also, please note that the majority of the trails at RRMT, Inc. are on the north side of the property...Trials Area, Airplane Hangar, Joshua Tree, Texas Stadium, Triple Threat, Rock Bluff...so therefore, all of these areas are virtually unaffected because riders do not have to cross any body of water (Creek nor Red River) to access them.

Again, we'll be updating you all tomorrow on the latest and greatest weather and trail conditions. But all in all, if you look at the weather conditions this past week, we have received NO rain this entire week. As a result, we have enjoyed warm, sunny conditions which have further allowed the random puddles in trails to dry out and also, it is helping the water in the creek recede as well.

So all in all, unless something just drastic happens in the weather in the next day or two (which you never know...we are in Texas), we are expecting a continuation of the current conditions...clear sunny skies and good trail riding.

TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's Monday...already, but at least its only a four day work week for many. Just a reminder that due to the Fourth of July Holiday, we will be open Wednesday, July 4th with hours of operation that day of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Update as of 8:40 a.m., we received NO rain overnight. Also, the sun is out currently. This sun will help dry out those random puddles in trails.

Also, I am just now getting these posted, but wanted to share some pictures with you from the weekend...so here you go:

This first picture was taken from the top of the second gate camping area. For the most part this weekend, those at the park this weekend enjoyed sunny, clear skies.

On Sunday, this rider enjoyed the sand pit area. We are very lucky that the park has not been receiving all the rain that other parts of Texas has been getting. But even if we had, the soil/sand at our park tends to absorb water quickly.

As one can see above, the trails are in good condition...except for that occasional puddle you may find. But since the sun has been out a lot lately, those puddles are drying up and getting smaller....see below...

This picture above was taken from the bottom of Pump Jack Hill on Saturday. There is a trail that runs directly under and around this hill. I am standing on the trail looking out at the creek. The Red River still has a lot of water backed up in this part of the creek area, but luckily the water in the creek and the Red River is receding...(even if it might not look like it)...its a slow process.

These next two pictures below are of the creek. On Saturday the water in the creek was still flowing swiftly and many found that it was uncrossable like these two motorcycle riders here. But then on Sunday, many of us that watch the conditions every day, started to notice with the sun out and warm conditions that the water in the creek had begun to recede...allowing many to start crossing it again without any problem.

Taken on Sunday, below is a picture of the creek crossing area in the old main camping area down by the sand pit.

Thus the pictures tell the story...with good current trail conditions & none of our trails closed, we are gearing up for Wednesday and a great 4th of July.

Update as of 5:30 p.m....NO rain today & we enjoyed clear and sunny skies.

RRMT, INC. LINGO

Also, it dawned on me today while posting the weekend's pictures that its just habit, but a lot of us that are familiar with RRMT, Inc. & those of our regular riders that have been riding at our park since they were teenagers or young kids since the early 1970's tend to talk and refer to things by name. We have a certain lingo among us RRMT, Inc. riders....so if you are a newbie to our park, please forgive us, but you too soon will catch on to "our speak." TRAILS/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Sunday Morning To You!

6.a.m. Update...As daybreak nears this morning, we received no rain overnight and currently it is NOT raining now. Yeah. The skies are looking pretty clear for now, but it is hard to tell until it becomes fully light outside. We'll keep our fingers crossed. But even if today is like yesterday, we should be in for a pretty nice day.

Update as of 8:30 p.m., today turned out to be a good day for riding. The sun was out and in fact, it turned out to be hot outside. Also, today it was noticeable that the water in the creek continues to recede. No rain today until late this afternoon. While it rained a little, it really was not enough to even be accounted for in the rain gauge.
