TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Friday Afternoon...

First and foremost, a thank you to everyone that voted in our 1st blog poll that wrapped up this morning at 9 a.m. We have posted another question out there now. The voting for this poll just started and will go thru next Friday, March 5th at 9 a.m. So get your votes in!

To catch you up to speed on the weather here on the home front in Bulcher...overnight, we had on and off mist. This afternoon as of 3 p.m., we have a current temperature of 39 degrees. Today's weather has been nothing to brag about...COLD and cloudy as it has been a dreary day with on and off mist all day long. We haven't had any measurable precipitation to report, just enough to make it a wet and gloomy day. Luckily the weekend forecast looks somewhat promising...but then again, it wouldn't take much to be a lot better than today...For tomorrow (Saturday), the forecast is calling for sunny conditions in the mid 50's. Then on Sunday, the forecast is predicting a mostly cloudy day but in the mid 50's as well. The rain that was once originally supposed to come in on Sunday has now been postponed until Monday and now the forecast is saying a 70% chance of rain/snow on Monday. So if you ever wanted to get some riding in...better get it in this weekend!

Without further hesitation, let's get this weekend started!

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN/SNOW RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall/snowfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Saturday night overnight & Sunday (2/21/2010) day - 1/2 inch of RAIN total
* Sunday overnight - NO PRECIPITATION
* Monday--NO PRECIPITATION
overnight-- NO PRECIPITATION
* Tuesday-- Light snow flurries...no accumulation
overnight-- NO PRECIPITATION
* Wednesday -- NO PRECIPITATION
overnight--NO PRECIPITATION
* Thursday-- NO PRECIPITATION
overnight—Rain mist...nothing measurable to report
* Friday (2/26/2010- TODAY)-- Rain mist on and off, but nothing measurable to report (dreary day) as of 3 p.m.

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN....this includes all trails on both the North & East sides. Bill's Woods & the New Property are both open as well...ENJOY!

Mountain Creek is at its normal level, except down toward the mouth of the Red River where we advise riders to use caution. No problem crossing Mountain Creek at this time. As always we would like to remind everyone that just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water (from the April 2009 rains) has really changed a lot of our trail system, so we advise everyone to use extreme caution even when riding on trails that you were once familiar.

While dust will not be a problem...conditions currently at the park can be described as WET. Expect muddy trails and standing puddles in various low lying/shaded trails due to the recent rain mist overnight and thus far today.

Riders to RRMT, Inc. will now find that RRMT, Inc. has over 30 new point of interest signs installed out on the trails. These are a great new addition to the park & we are very proud of them! These signs will help you catch the iRide Bulcher, Texas fever as you continue to learn about the various unique parts of the RRMT, Inc. Facility!

** Please note that as of the winter riding season, our sign project has been put on hold. We will resume crafting and putting up the rest of these signs probably in the spring time frame, when all winter weather is completely over with!

RED RIVER
The Red River remains at its normal level. There still remains some lurking murky water/quicksand being pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek from the river, so watch out for it...getting stuck is always a possibility in certain areas in the creek.

CREEK
While riding in Mountain Creek is possible and crossing the creek is also possible...please use caution when in the creek, especially further down the creek toward the river. It is very possible to sink your recreational vehicle in the creek due to quicksand if not careful. Please note that if you get stuck, RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Windy Thursday...Hold On!

NO rain yesterday or overnight. This afternoon as of 2 p.m., we have a current temperature of 55 degrees. Unlike yesterday though, if you've been out today, you know that it actually feels a lot colder out today due to the fierce windy. Heck, you'll be doing good if you don't get blown away today. The sun has attempted to come out today, but has never been completely successful due to the fact that it continues to hide in the partly cloudy skies. Today would be a nice day, if it just wasn't so incredibly windy. Gees. We have received NO rain thus far today. The forecast is calling for possible rain showers tomorrow, but we'll just have to wait and see what Friday has in store for us.

NO precipitation yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 9:45 a.m., we're off to a chilly start with a current temperature of 29 degrees. The sun is out, but it won't do much to warm us up today as we are only anticipating mid to upper 40's for highs. We have received NO rain thus far today. It's going to be a cold one today...but finally sunny, clear, beautiful conditions. Enjoy your day!

We also wanted to bring to everyone's attention that as of this morning, the 2010 Member Appreciation Weekend dates have been set. TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

It's Terrific Tuesday...

NO precipitation overnight. This morning as of 10 a.m., we have a current temperature of 33 degrees. It is cloudy and overcast today as we are only a few degrees away from our anticipated high of 40 degrees. Well if you were curious if our area saw any winter weather today...earlier this morning we had a few snowflakes come down...but they were extremely little, light flakes and it only lasted for probably 20 to 30 minutes tops. It literally was a "dusting" like the forecast had predicted & that was it! And thankfully that was all it was...as it has been an extremely wet winter and we don't need any more moisture. So by no means were we affected or impacted by any winter weather, which was nice for a change. We have not received any further precipitation & do not expect to today.

For those of you in areas impacted by the winter weather, such as south of the DFW area...stay warm & safe travels to you today! Have a nice day.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Another Monday...

Well let's see...right after we posted our blog yesterday morning before 11 a.m....that period of time must have been the calm before the storm because right around 11:30 a.m., it came a downpour of rain. It didn't really last all that long, but oh it came down. After that, even our campground area looked like a swamp area with puddles standing everywhere. Getting stuck yesterday was normal & it seemed to be happening to everyone. But yesterday (temperature-wise) was actually a really nice day to be outdoors. After that downpour though, we did not receive any more rain yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 8:45 a.m., we have a current temperature of 34 degrees. It is a cloudy and cold day! Only supposed to see highs today of around 44 degrees. We have received NO rain thus far today. Brace yourself, because yes, another round of snow is heading our way. Here in the Red River Valley they are saying we may only see a dusting of snow though and may miss the bull’s-eye of the storm. Last time (aka February 11th) the weather forecasters said the same thing and we received 8 inches of snow, so be prepared for anything. We'll keep you posted. There is a special weather statement for our area though as issued by the National Weather Service. See details below:

Issued by The National Weather Service
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
4:36 am CST, Mon., Feb. 22, 2010

... WINTER WEATHER EXPECTED MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY...

AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL APPROACH FROM THE WEST MONDAY NIGHT AND WITH COLD AIR IN PLACE... AREAS OF SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVERNIGHT. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW AND TRAVEL IMPACTS ACROSS MUCH OF NORTH TEXAS LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY... ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF A BOWIE TO DALLAS TO CANTON LINE.

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT GENERALLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM CISCO... TO WAXAHACHIE... TO ATHENS. NORTH OF THE WATCH AREA... LESSER AMOUNTS OF ACCUMULATING SNOW MAY ALSO IMPACT TRAVEL. AT THIS TIME... SNOWFALL TOTALS OUTSIDE THE WATCH AREA ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM A TRACE TO AN INCH WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS OF 2 INCHES.

AS THE EVENT NEARS... CONFIDENCE IS GROWING THAT THE HIGHER SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WILL STAY SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 20. HOWEVER... ANY CHANGES TO THE TRACK OR STRENGTH OF THE STORM SYSTEM COULD AFFECT THE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AND AREAS IMPACTED. RESIDENTS AND TRAVELERS ACROSS NORTH TEXAS SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH.

*** Have a nice day & look on the bright side, if we do end up getting any winter weather...it will come in tomorrow and be gone by Wednesday...typical Texas weather (ever-changing). And thankfully it will be long gone by this weekend....so it's never too early to start thinking about what you'll be doing this weekend!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Sunday...

Well if you missed riding yesterday, you missed out. Yesterday was a nice day. It got a little breezy late yesterday afternoon, but other than that, it was a great day to be outdoors. Overnight, unlike other areas that had major thunderstorms and rainfall, we received only a 1/2 inch of rain thankfully and that was enough to make things wet today, but luckily it isn't that bad. But if you are venturing out to Bulcher today, you won't have dust, but mud instead. As of 10:50 a.m., we have a current temperature of 55 degrees. No breeze out...it's perfect. The sun has been out this morning, but as of just recently, it has dipped behind the clouds...so it may be on and off sunny/cloudy today. With the skies getting cloudier, we might even get some more rain later today, but right now it is hard to tell what the weather is going to do. Nevertheless, we are expecting a good (but possibly stormy) day. We have received NO rain thus far today. There currently is a special weather alert for our area. See details below:

Issued by The National Weather Service
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
4:58 am CST, Sun., Feb. 21, 2010

... WINTER WEATHER EXPECTED ON MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY...

COLD AIR WILL MOVE SOUTH INTO NORTH TEXAS SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY. AS AN UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM APPROACHES FROM THE WEST MONDAY NIGHT... AREAS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP. THERE WILL BE A POTENTIAL FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW AND TRAVEL IMPACTS ACROSS ALL OF NORTH TEXAS MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO END TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

AT THIS TIME... THE BEST CHANCES FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW ARE FORECAST TO BE IN AREAS ALONG AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM JACKSBORO TO DALLAS TO CANTON. ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS. THE TRACK AND STRENGTH OF THE UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM WILL DETERMINE THE LOCATION AND AMOUNT OF SNOW THAT FALLS. IF THE SYSTEM IS STRONGER THAN CURRENTLY FORECAST... THEN LOCALLY HIGHER SNOWFALL TOTALS WOULD BE POSSIBLE.

RESIDENTS AND TRAVELERS ACROSS NORTH TEXAS SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH.

**** The end of the weekend is upon us. Starting tomorrow, it's back to cold temperatures and possibly snowy conditions on Tuesday. Don't waste another minute of what's left of your weekend sitting around the house. Get out & RIDE!

P.S. Have you started thinking about your spring break plans yet? Others have...get on it & make your Bulcher, Texas Spring Break Destination Plans soon! We still have some RV rentals available!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Evening...

Were you wondering when our blog would be back...we'll we're back now!

Well let's see...let's recap today...what we thought was going to be a nice sunny day...ended up being okay and decent. In early afternoon, our sunny skies gave way to cloudy/overcast skies. All the areas around us got rain showers or sprinkles of rain, but nothing to report for us in Bulcher. But for the most part it was a nice day...we just wish we would have seen the sun more. As of 9:15 p.m. tonight, we have a current temperature of 52 degrees...nice temperatures for camping out.

Currently there is a special weather statement for our area. See details below.

Issued by The National Weather Service
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
3:06 pm CST, Fri., Feb. 19, 2010

... THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY FOLLOWED BY POSSIBLE WINTER WEATHER ON TUESDAY...

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED SATURDAY NIGHT AND INTO SUNDAY AS A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPS AND MOVES THROUGH THE AREA. ISOLATED STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE EAST OF INTERSTATE 35... WITH THE MAIN THREAT BEING LARGE HAIL. PRECIPITATION WILL END FROM WEST TO EAST SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

AS THE SURFACE LOW EXITS THE REGION... A COLD FRONT WILL ADVANCE ACROSS THE REGION MONDAY... DROPPING TEMPERATURES INTO THE 30S. ANOTHER DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE THROUGH ON TUESDAY AND WITH THE COLD AIR ALREADY IN PLACE... WINTER PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE. GIVEN THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE TRACK AND STRENGTH OF THE DISTURBANCE... WE WILL CONTINUE TO ASSESS FUTURE DATA AND UPDATE THE FORECAST AS MORE INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.

--- This weekend looks nice for trail riding. Tomorrow (Saturday) we anticipate highs in the mid 50's with cloudy conditions. Sunday is when the isolated thunderstorms are supposed to roll in...mid 50's are expected for highs on Sunday as well. So if we receive any rain, it will likely be on Sunday...so get out & have yourself a nice weekend...because after all this recent cold, snowy weather...we think everyone has cabin fever!

Here is your usual Friday comprehensive report on park trail/weather conditions to get you ready for this weekend!

*** Please note that these guidelines are just to serve as helpful tips on what to expect at the park. As always, RRMT, Inc. cannot guarantee park conditions. ***

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN/SNOW RECAP

All of our trails are OPEN....this includes all trails on both the North & East sides. Bill's Woods & the New Property are both open as well...ENJOY!

As always we would like to remind everyone that just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water (from the April 2009 rains) has really changed a lot of our trail system, so we advise everyone to use extreme caution even when riding on trails that you were once familiar.

Other than one day, we really haven't had "warm" temperatures this week, and thus while trails can be considered somewhat dry, standing water puddles are to be expected in certain low lying/shaded trail areas as a result of our recent moisture (2/11's 8 inch snowfall). Dust will not be a problem!

PHASE 4: POINT OF INTEREST TRAIL SIGNS INSTALLED

On Saturday, 11/14/2009, Holly was fortunate to have the help of three RRDR Volunteers helping her with phase 4 sign installation. We were able to get 4 signs up in phase 4 on Saturday with only 4 more signs of phase 4 left to install at another time.

A big thank you goes out to (left to right in picture below):
* RRDR Norman
* RRDR Larry
* RRDR Phillip!

Thank you so very much for taking time out of your busy schedules on Saturday to help Holly with installing signs.

Furthermore, we have had many nice compliments on the new signs from park riders already...thank you! It means a lot!

Hopefully weather permitting, we can get the rest of phase 4 signs installed soon. Thanks for your patience. We'll keep you posted.

RRMT, Inc. Staff
PHASE 3: POINT OF INTEREST TRAIL SIGNS INSTALLED

11/11/2009, marked another monumental day...the third phase of point of interest signs were installed out on the trails today...hence the reason there was no blog on 11/11/2009...thanks for understanding. Phase 3 was a difficult section...as it consisted of signs located on the east side of the property.

Please note that many have wondered what has taken us so long to start installing these signs. Many do not realize how difficult it is to access certain parts of the property. Hence the picture below...not a typical day at the ranch, but it was our day...and a 4 hour detour to getting our equipment turned back over & out of this ravine!

Installing some of these signs is a slow go due to the terrain. And even going slow, many times, we have to spend several hours getting equipment in and out from each point. Thanks for everyone's patience because we are working hard for you!

Thanks to all RRMT, Inc. Staff & volunteers for another successful day installing signs. Also a big thank you to RRDR Steven for volunteering his time to spend with us installing signs so we all can better the park.

So curious minds are probably wondering...what's the stats on this project so far...

Well have approximately 30 point of interest signs up around the park...with probably around 30 more or so to go...so saying we're halfway completed with the sign portion of the project would be fair. We hope to get one more phase (phase 4) installed prior to Thanksgiving weekend (fingers crossed though -- with time & weather permitting). Then it will be back to the drawing board for Holly & Brandon to craft approximately 10 to 15 signs that still need to be handcrafted from scratch. At this point, our main goal is just rolling out the signs that are completely done in phases (aka...sections of the property). Then with the upcoming holidays and renewals, and new memberships going on sale...this project will likely go on a brief hiatus (after phase 4 has been completed) until early 2010...but nevertheless, all of us here at RRMT, Inc. are extremely proud of how this project is turning out & we hope you as our customers check it out...for both entertainment purposes as well as for safety purposes...these signs are awesome. So when riding now...please be cautious of your surroundings and look for these signs in the case you need a reference back to a certain part of the property.

Lastly this blog wouldn't be complete without Holly sending a big thank you out to three people:

* RRDR Volunteer Phillip...he has been a huge advisor to Holly & her go-to regarding various questions about park point of interest signs. Phillip has also been an integral part of the preparation phase of this project...helping Holly plan all the points out, etc. Thank you Phillip!

* Holly's husband Brandon...thanks so much for standing behind Holly on this project. At times...it's been rough...Holly's rough work schedule with lots of long hours on weekdays & weekends...countless hours staining, painting, cutting, prepping signs...we're almost there...hang in there...you're awesome & we couldn't do it without you!

* And last but not least...Lewis...our equipment guru & person who oversees all park maintenance & construction...there is no way we could do any of this without you. At the end of the day...you keep us all up and running. You're the best & we appreciate you!

* And lastly, there have been so many others that Holly has talked to about this project in passing...so a big thank you to all of you...it would take us 4E to name all of you. This project has meant so much to Holly, especially, & seeing it all finally come together for the good of the park & its customers, is an unbelievable feeling that can't even be described.

And finally...thanks to all our customers. Each & every individual riding at our park day in and day out...you provide the meaning & reason why we love our jobs so dearly!

From our ranch to yours...

RRMT, Inc. Staff
ANOTHER...POINT OF INTEREST TRAIL SIGNS UPDATE

11/10/2009, marked another monumental day...the second phase of point of interest signs were installed out on the trails today...hence the reason there was no blog on 11/9/2009...thanks for understanding. The signs are turning out so great...ENJOY!

With great weather & these new additions to the park...you need to be sure riding RED RIVER is on your agenda for this weekend!

We are still working on additional signs with phase three (of signs) to be installed tomorrow, 11/11/09. We'll keep you posted.

RRMT, Inc. Staff
POINT OF INTEREST TRAIL SIGNS UPDATE

11/6/2009, marked a monumental day...the first phase of point of interest signs were installed out on the trails. There are a lot more signs to go up and they will go up in phases, but it will take some time. Luckily today the weather was absolutely perfect....we couldn't have asked for better weather for this project.

We hope everyone will appreciate the new signs that will be out on the trails. Each sign is handcrafted so we would ask people to take care and respect them. We would ask that if you see someone defacing, vandalizing, or trying to steal the signs to please try to stop that person & then immediately report that person or individuals to the park office. These signs are a huge asset to the park and our trail system. Especially for people unfamiliar with the park or still trying to figure out their way around the trails...these new signs will help provide a point of reference out on the trails.

While Holly has been a huge champion & part of this project from the get-go, a huge thank you also goes out to so many others...all the RRMT, Inc. Staff, volunteers, & close family who have worked on the signs as well as several of the Red River Dirt Riders who have been our go-to people on advice on names, etc....without you all, none of this would be possible. THANK YOU!

We look forward to hearing everyone's feedback on these new additions to the park. We take all feedback regarding our trail system very seriously, so if you have ideas for the park, the trails, etc...send them our way.

Enjoy a preview of some of the new signs and more to come....

While our new RV electrical sites that we take reservations for are for members, we also still offer our basic electrical hookups for members, guests & visitors. These hookups are on a first-come, first-serve basis and they are $10.00 per hookup/per day.

Call or email us if you need assistance or would like to make a reservation.

MEMBER RV ELECTRICAL SITE INFORMATION

Information has now been released on the home page regarding Member RV sites. For more information & location - refer to the Member RV Site Diagram located on our home page.

The information has been posted below for your convenience as well.

If you have any questions, please let us know.
RRMT, Inc. Staff

**********************************************************

Both 30 & 50 amp sites are now available for rent. RRMT, Inc. gladly accepts advance reservations for these sites.

$20.00 per Member RV electrical site/per day – 30 amp site

or

$25.00 per Member RV electrical site/per day – 50 amp site

Either one of the above options includes 1 RV electrical hookup (30 or 50 amp) & a shared pavilion & picnic table with BBQ grill, pavilion lights, and additional pavilion electrical plugs for small appliances/equipment. There is electricity hookups only…no water or sewer.

Note: There are 2 RV electrical sites per pavilion. Thus, if you do not rent 2 RV sites, you may possibly have to share a pavilion with another RRMT, Inc. Member.

Only members can make reservations for RV electrical sites.

Reservations are highly recommended! RRMT, Inc. will accept people showing up and purchasing an electrical site, but they will only be offered what is available & not already reserved.

If you have a big group & you all want electricity, please specify how many electrical sites you will need, so we can accommodate you with RV sites that are close in proximity if desired.

When reservations are made, RRMT, Inc. must know how many days you would like to make your RV site rental. On the first day of park arrival, you will be required to pay the entire amount (based on the # of days rented & amps) of your RV site rental.

If not paid for the next day—you must be out of your assigned RV electrical site by 9 A.M. ! This time frame will be strictly enforced to ensure that all rental Members get to assume their RV electrical site spaces in a timely manner. Please note that RRMT, Inc. rents its RV sites on a daily basis, so if you book an RV site for a certain # of days, but end up wanting to extend the # of days of your rental, you may or may not get to stay in your particular RV site depending on if that site has already been reserved in advance by another member. If other RV sites are available, you may have to move to another site if you want to be accommodated for more days.

When taking reservations, if you don’t specify a particular RV electrical site, RRMT, Inc. will assign you a site according to the desired amps (30 or 50) you indicate that you need. Members are responsible for leaving their RV sites clean. If you rent an RV site that is not clean upon your arrival when you assume the space, the park office should be notified immediately!

If you need to cancel, you must do so at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel within 24 hours, no charges will be assessed. If you fail to cancel within 24 hours in advance, you will be billed ½ the price of the RV electrical site (according to amps) for the # of days that was originally rented. (Example… if only 1 day was rented for a 30 amp site ($20.00/2), then $10.00 will be charged to your member account & you will be responsible for paying that balance before visiting the park again.) For those members who make reservations and fail to cancel and also fail to show, those members will be billed full price for the RV electrical site (according to amps) for the # of days that was originally rented. (Example… if only 1 day was rented for a 30 amp site, then $20.00 will be charged to your member account & you will be responsible for paying that balance before visiting the park again.) Our cancellation policy is necessary to ensure that those members renting our sites are serious about their rentals and if they are not, it allows us enough notice to be able to rent it out to other members wanting the space, or else retrieve money for the hassle of dealing with late cancelations and/or no shows.

PROBLEMS WITH WEEKDAY RIDING - MEMBERS ONLY

As you know, with your 2009 new membership or renewal, every member got a letter concerning previous problems RRMT, Inc. has been having with weekday riding. For a mid-year update, we would like to applaud our members...for about 95% of weekday riding members, the envelopes for weekday riding have gotten a lot better. The envelopes are being filled out with names, member id #s, etc. So kudos to you all! Keep up the good work. However, with that 5%, we are still having some big problems that need to be addressed. So in light of that, we would like to take the time to address some of these problems...

1) On your weekday riding envelopes, a few members are still not listing their guests on their envelopes. (Do not let your guests do a separate envelope. They should be listed on your envelope with you - the member!) If you let your guest fill out a separate envelope, our job gets harder trying to figure out which member's account that guest is supposed to be attached to.

2) If two or more members and at least one guest come to the park on a weekday and complete an envelope--please take the time to indicate to us on the envelope which member's account that guest should be assigned to. If you don't--we randomly assign the guest(s) to one of the member(s) accounts.

3) You CANNOT make a weekday park appointment and let your guests come & ride on your membership without you being present! NO EXCEPTIONS. HENCE, THIS IS ONE OF THE BIG PRIVILEGS OF MEMBERSHIP! If you have guests wanting to come on a weekday, they either need to come with you, the member, or if that member can't come, the guests should either not come at all, or at least one of those guests need to join to become a member, so they earn the privilege to come on a weekday.

4) Lastly, we are still getting those occasional weekday envelopes with money inside from people and then absolutely no information filled out on the envelopes, no names, no member id#s, etc. Please label all information correctly and thoroughly...remember, if your envelope is not even identifiable, we don't have to give you credit (frequent rider points) for your visit. So please remember to complete the envelopes.

MEMBER ID CARDS & PACKETS - PRESENT & FUTURE

As previously announced earlier this year, if RRMT, Inc. does not recognize you immediately as a member upon check-in, you will be required to show your RRMT, Inc. member ID card as well as possibly additional forms of identification. Lately, when this has occurred, suddenly there are some members that claim to not have a member id card. Please note, whether you renew or are a new member for 2009, everyone receives a membership packet for each year. These are mailed out or given to you at the park (if you happen to be at the park when your packet has been completed). These packets are important because they contain your park account information, new cards for new members, renewal receipts & renewal stickers for renewed members, as well as member rules & information. Whether people are misplacing their cards & claiming to not know the rules because they claim they never got their member packets, all remains to be a mystery. But this excuse is becoming all too common. As a result, effective January 1, 2010, all renewing members & all new members for 2010, will have to pick up their renewal and or new member packets at the park office once they join for 2010. We will no longer be mailing (snail mail) them out as a result of people using the excuse that they never received their packets. Furthermore, due to upward rising postage stamps, this will also help benefit the park and put your membership dollars to better use rather than spending them on postage costs. Please note that effective 1/1/2010, the only mailed correspondence to members will be birthday postcards and membership renewal reminder postcards. Thus, if you join for 2010, once we process your membership renewal or new application for the new year, we will file your membership packet and it will be your responsibility to come pick it up and ask for it during a park visit.

Thanks for everyone's attention to these important matters. 2009 has been a great year. If you are already curious about what 2010 holds and are wanting to go ahead and renew for 2010, renewal reminders for 2010 will go out in late fall, with registration to open in early November for existing members to renew for 2010.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Howdy...

NO rain yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 10 a.m., we have a current temperature of 45 degrees. We are enjoying another bright and sunny day....thank goodness. Today actually may be somewhat warmer as well...upper 50's expected for highs today. This nice weather is a welcome change and a drastic difference from the 8 inches of snow that we received exactly one week from today (last Thursday 2/11). Could we finally be on our way to nice weather as March and spring slowly approaches? Who knows...we can only hope though. We have received NO rain thus far today. Some rain showers are still in our future, but now the forecast is saying instead of late this week...they are predicted for late in the weekend, but as always, we'll just have to wait and see.

Enjoy your day....and yes, you have permission...

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Tuesday Evening...

NO rain yesterday or overnight. This evening as of 5 p.m., we have a current temperature of 47 degrees. We have enjoyed a nice & sunny day here in the Red River Valley; however, as indicated by the temperature...a bit chilly though. After last week, we are convinced that Mr. Groundhog (back on February 2nd) indeed saw his shadow and thus, was accurate in his prediction of 6 more weeks of winter. After 8 inches of snow last Thursday, we became a pretty big believer in Mr. Groundhog! Anyways, all that snow is long gone by now as we try to dry out from all that moisture. Conditions at the park can still be considered muddy. We have received NO precipitation thus far today.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy President's Day!

Well as a recap on yesterday...what a day! Around noon or so, we started having snow flurries in our area. It was really unbelievable as it came down for a good while...probably close to an hour or hour and a half of the white stuff. But of course, no accumulation, just enough to make the day more wet and messy. After that ended, we did not have any further precipitation yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 9:20 a.m., we have a current temperature of 30 degrees. While the sun that has already made its debut & looks promising to warm us up, it feels even colder today due to the extremely windy conditions we are experiencing. The high today is only supposed to be in the low to mid 40's....so stay warm! We have received NO rain thus far today.

If you are lucky enough to have today off due to the holiday...we are NOT open to the general public today. Thus, you must be a member & have an appointment with the park office for weekday access today, President's Day.

It's time to start dreaming about next weekend...hopefully it will be warmer & less wet. RRMT, Inc. will be OPEN this weekend...Saturday, February 20 & Sunday, February 21. We will have park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend!

Have a nice day...

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Day Mate...Happy Valentine's Day!

NO precipitation yesterday or overnight. This morning as of 8:30 a.m., we have a current temperature of 33 degrees. It is cloudy and overcast today as we don't expect to see the sun any today. Those coming out to Bulcher this morning will experience extremely bad fog...making for limited visibility so use caution on roadways. The fog will likely lift later on this morning similar to what it did yesterday. With a current temperature of 33 degrees...we are not too far from our anticipated "high temperature" of the day...35 degrees...so it is going to be a cold one guaranteed! Yesterday believe it or not, around 2:30 to 3 p.m., the sun made its debut and somewhat warmed us up just for a little while which helped with melting a lot of the snow. There is still some snow on sides of trails, in trees, and on the ground which makes for some pretty pictures. But now with a lot of the snow melted, our trails are much more defined, which will help guide riders thru our trail system. But as expected due to the melting, expect icy (in some spots) as well as muddy & slushy (in other spots) trails. Also, if you haven't checked the forecast...please note that it is still predicting pm rain/snow showers for today, so we'll just have to wait and see what is in store for us. After all the moisture we have received this winter, now nothing with the weather seems to surprise us anymore. We have received NO precipitation thus far today.

Please note that there is currently a freezing fog advisory in effect for our area. See details below:

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Saturday Afternoon...

NO further precipitation yesterday, overnight, or thus far today. This afternoon as of 12:30 p.m., we have a current temperature of 34 degrees. Earlier this morning, the Red River Valley area was covered by a heavy fog. The fog has finally lifted thankfully. We are hovering right above the freezing mark and while the forecast says that we'll see mid 40's today...we're not buying it. But the day is not over, so we'll just wait and see. There has been some melting (as expected), but there is still so much snow on the ground, so unless there is some more melting between this afternoon & tomorrow, riders to the park tomorrow will definitely get to enjoy their share of the snow. Those thinking about venturing out to the park tomorrow should dress accordingly for winter weather & watch the forecast. Right now the forecast is saying that the high tomorrow should be right at 40 degrees. Also, the forecast hasn't ruled out the possibility of pm rain/snow showers for tomorrow as well. For those wishing to see Bulcher snow pictures, please refer to Friday's (Feb. 13th 5:30 pm) blog. Have a great rest of the day. For those wishing to get some snow riding in at Bulcher this weekend, tomorrow is your chance. We open at 8 a.m. tomorrow (Valentine's Day) morning. See you soon. But for now, we will leave you with a comprehensive report to get you ready on what to expect at RRMT, Inc. tomorrow, Sunday.

*** Please note that these guidelines are just to serve as helpful tips on what to expect at the park. As always, and especially in this type of winter weather, RRMT, Inc. cannot guarantee park conditions. ***

However, we advise riders to be cautious of where you choose to cross Mountain Creek at due to snowy/frozen slushy conditions in the creek. As always we would like to remind everyone that just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water (from the April 2009 rains) has really changed a lot of our trail system, so we advise everyone to use extreme caution even when riding on trails that you were once familiar.

Water puddles are to be expected in certain trail areas as the snow melts. While you don't have to worry about dust, please be cautious of slick & icy trails. Also, use common sense & DO NOT DRIVE OVER LARGE BODIES OF FROZEN WATER!

RED RIVER
The Red River remains at its normal level. There still remains some lurking murky water/quicksand being pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek from the river, so watch out for it...getting stuck is possible, especially with the slushy/slick snow/ice in the creek.

CREEK
While riding in Mountain Creek is possible and crossing the creek is also possible...please use caution when in the creek, especially further down the creek toward the river. It is very possible to sink your recreational vehicle in the creek due to quicksand & lots of snowy/icy/slushy mud if not careful. Please note that if you get stuck, RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out! (Please note that this applies to all recreational vehicles (throughout the entire park) as well as automobiles (in the campground areas).

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hi Again...Welcome back to Snowy Bulcher, Texas!

As promised we are back...with lots of information & pictures.

First and foremost, we want to start off by letting everyone know our weekend schedule. After surveying the park conditions today, we have elected to only be open 1 day this weekend. Furthermore, for those of you members off on Monday, which is President's Day, you also have the opportunity to schedule an appointment for weekday access.

So here is our park's status. We are currently CLOSED. RRMT, Inc. will be CLOSED tomorrow, Saturday, February 13th. We will OPEN first thing on Valentine's Day (Sunday, February 14th) at 8 a.m. We will have park hours on Sunday of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Then for President's day (Monday, February 15th) park access, please call or email us for an appointment. If you will be coming in on Sunday and staying over Sunday night to ride Monday, be sure to tell us on Sunday night that you are camping. This overnight Sunday camping option is only valid for members and is not valid to the general public since on Monday we are only open to members & their guests & not to the general public.

Here is our plan...we are going to let everyone know of the current conditions in and around the Red River Valley area as well as at our park. Since we will not be open tomorrow, Saturday, we will not post our usual Friday comprehensive report...instead that will be posted tomorrow (Saturday) in order to get your ready for Sunday winter trail riding.

Please note that all pictures on this blog were taken today, Friday, February 12th between noon and 1 p.m.

Well we will first start with current road conditions in and around the Bulcher area. Honestly, there are no problems. We checked out Highway 82 as well as FM 373 (which runs from Muenster to Bulcher). While you can still find slick spots, the county did a really good job of grading the roads and getting them clear. So actual road conditions are in good shape. See photos below of FM 373.

As for highways and major county roads in our area...things look good. Now...other county roads around our area are a different story...they haven't been touched by the county. In fact, right around 1 p.m., the county had just got their graders out to the area to tackle the less traveled smaller county roads as shown by the pictures below:

The current park conditions can be described as follows:

Unlike the highways and major county roads in our area, driving into the park's entrance even to the main office, if you don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, you'll get stuck (without 4 wheel drive, you'll just start spinning your tires because you won't be able to get any traction) hands down even though you have only gone a couple hundred feet off the county road pavement. We are expecting the snow to melt somewhat by Sunday, but there is just no way that all of it will completely melt so don't worry. Our thoughts are this...hopefully by Sunday at least some of it will melt to help the road conditions just throughout the main park and campground because right now the only vehicles that are getting around are 4 wheel drive automobiles. Also, by only being open 1 weekend day (Sunday) for riding to the general public...this will help minimize damage to our facility's trails and roads due to the past couple of months really wet conditions that continue to compound & wear on the park as we continue to receive brutal winter weather (or at least brutal for us Texans who are not use to this type of weather on a regular basis). By Sunday, the main campground roads should be in better shape. (But even on Sunday, we would encourage that if you have a 4 wheel drive, bring it because we can never guarantee conditions.) Also, by waiting 'til Sunday, with some of the snow melting, trails will be better defined to guide riders throughout our trail system. This is imperative for safety purposes, so thank you for everyone's understanding.

We most definitely received a good 8 inches of snow. Everything is completely covered. There are some drifts, but for the most part, this time unlike during the holidays, this was more of a flat snow since it wasn't as windy when the snow was falling. The park is extremely beautiful and we hope you are already planning a unique Valentine's Day for you & your group of friends/family....plan to ride Bulcher Sunday. Besides, when is the last time that you were able to go winter snow trail riding in Texas on Valentine's Day?

Like we said before, we will back tomorrow (Saturday) with a complete report on what you can anticipate for Sunday, but right now the forecast is predicting highs Sunday to be in the low to mid 40's.

Sunday, bring your camera and you might just capture similar images to these taken today at the park....ENJOY!

* Look how high the snow is on the 5 mph park sign!

* As the snow starts to gradually melt...expect snowy, but possible slushy conditions that could be possible in some areas by Sunday.

Have a nice weekend....See you on Valentine's Day!

Talk to you again tomorrow.

P.S. Snowmobiles will be permitted due to the weather conditions & will be permitted as a recreational vehicle at our park until the snow melts.

P.S. Hopefully we didn't give you photo overload...but after we
started taking pictures, we just couldn't stop. What can we say...Bulcher, Texas sure is gorgeous in the winter! Wait, who are we kidding...Bulcher, Texas is beautiful all year round...summer, spring, fall, & winter. Bulcher, Texas is a great place to ride in every season!
