TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Finally The Weekend At Last...
And For Many Of You, A Long Weekend Thru New Year's Day On Tuesday!

Before we get started here with reporting the weather, wanted to provide some quick information...we will be OPEN this weekend: tomorrow, Saturday, December 29 and Sunday, December 30. In observation of New Year's, we will also be OPEN on Tuesday, January 1, 2008. We will be OPEN all three days listed with hours of operation of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m....If you are planning on coming in on Saturday and/or Sunday and staying thru Monday or Tuesday, please be sure to let us know upon your arrival at the park office; no advance appointment is required as long as you are coming out on the weekend during normal business hours. However, if you just want to come out on Monday and ride, you MUST call our park office to set up an appointment so you may enter the park. If you have any questions, please email us or call us at our park office.

Furthermore, yet another reminder, December 31 will be the last day that RRMT, Inc. will be honoring its old rates. As of January 1, 2008, all new policies and prices go into effect. Thus, January 1, 2008 is considered a holiday by RRMT, Inc. so NO appointment is needed to come and ride that day...members/guests as well as visitors are welcome. But starting January 2, only members & their guests may ride on weekdays with an appointment unless a special exemption has been granted to a visitor. Inquire at park office for visitor special exceptions.

Please note that we are currently accepting RRMT, Inc. Memberships for the 2008 Season! Get YOURS TODAY!

Now onto weather...

Since last posting yesterday, the sun never made it out. It remained cloudy and overcast all day yesterday with cold temperatures, but NO rain.

Overnight we received NO rain. Currently this morning as of 6:45 a.m., it is still dark outside at the moment, but we are expecting another day similar to yesterday...probably NO sun again today, just cool temperatures and NO rain. But until day breaks and it lightens up outside, its kinda hard to tell.

Time to provide you with our usual recap so we can get this weekend started...

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN....a few sprinkles of rain in the A.M., but not enough to measure
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 6:45 a.m.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions....

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN both on the North and East sides of the facility. Per our rain gauge report...we have received NO rain this week, except a few sprinkles of rain on Wednesday morning that weren't even enough to measure. For those of you that are counting...that's two full weeks now with NO measurable precipitation. The last precipitation (rain) we received was two weeks ago and it was only 1 inch and 3 tenths. Therefore, we do have dry conditions in our area currently. Riding conditions are currently good, but of course, dust can be anticipated. As a result of our dry conditions, we do not anticipate riders seeing any puddles or mud out on the actual trails.

RED RIVER
Not much has changed with the Red River since last Friday's recap...The Red River is bank to bank in some places, but then very narrow in other places, which has allowed the water to be split which has created various sandbars. The amount of water that the river has pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek (where it joins the Red River) has now pretty much receded, and at this time, really minimal and of no concern. However, it is still advised that you be careful to avoid any quicksand because getting stuck is always a possibility.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek is minimal at this time. It is advised that you be on the lookout for mud to avoid getting stuck, but really no problems there at the mouth of the creek are to be anticipated. Riders will find that they can ride in the creek the entire way to the river currently. Similarly, since riders can ride in the creek the entire way to the river, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

In summary, despite our dry conditions, riding at our park is currently very nice. The last few days we have had cold temperatures, but nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year (winter) in Texas. A further reason that you need to load up the family, pack some hot cocoa and camping gear, and head on out to Bulcher. There's nothing like spending the last few days of 2007 enjoying the great outdoors!

Besides, having a campfire is absolutely a delight in weather like this...not to mention...bring on the smores! See you out on the trails!

Final update for the day as of 5:10 p.m....today ended up being a really nice day even though it was a little on the cool side. The sun came out luckily and there was a little wind, but not much. NO rain today & overall a nice day to spend trail riding.

Happy Trails,

Wanted to recap yesterday for you since we hadn't posted since yesterday morning....well the sun never made it out yesterday...it was just cold, cloudy, and overcast all day yesterday. NO rain yesterday though other than the few sprinkles we received earlier that morning that we reported.

Overnight, NO rain to report. Currently this morning as of 9 a.m., we have NO sun again today. Just cold, cloudy, and overcast. (Think we're starting to see a pattern here...)We have received NO rain thus far today.

Final update for the day as of 3:35 p.m....well NO sun today...just cloudy and overcast all day long with cold temperatures. NO rain today. Tomorrow's Friday luckily so we can all start thinking about the upcoming weekend!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Wednesday!

Hope Everyone Had a Blessed Christmas!

Christmas Day in Bulcher ended up being extremely nice. Sunny clear skies and great temperatures were perfect for spending the day outdoors. It was a little on the cold side, but really not too bad at all. Yesterday we received NO rain.

Overnight we can report that NO precipitation was received. Early this morning it misted a little, but it was not even enough to measure and as of now, there is no mist falling. Currently as of 8:35 a.m., it is cloudy and overcast outside. Not for sure if the sun will make its way out today or not. We have cool temperatures but they really aren't that bad outside currently.

Just a reminder...wanting to ride and/or camp this week? If so, please call our park office to make an appointment to do so. Otherwise, we will be open this coming weekend, Saturday, December 29 and Sunday, December 30 with hours of operation of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. In observation of the New Year, we will also be open Tuesday, January 1, 2008 with hours of operation of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. One last reminder...December 31 will be the last day that we will be honoring our "old" rates. All of our new prices and policies go into effect on January 1, 2008. Those admission fees will be as follows:

$10.00 per Member per day
$15.00 per Visitor/Guest per day

While we have received numerous questions at our park office concerning our new policies, we welcome additional questions....we're always happy to help!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

From Bulcher, Texas

Remember what we said a while back...Texas weather is unpredictable...well it is...yesterday after our final blog of the day, when we were closing up the park, there were small snowflakes a flying. It was really short lived...but just crazy! We go from having a beautiful week to yesterday's cold, windy conditions, to a few snowflakes....again, like we've said before, if you don't like the weather in Texas...just wait 5 minutes and it is likely to change anyways. The snowflakes were pretty to see, especially since it is around the holidays now, but of course, absolutely no accumulation whatsoever.

Onto today...overnight we received no precipitation. Currently this morning as of 9 a.m., believe it or not, the sun is out and shining bright. It is currently cold outside, but luckily the gusty wind that we had yesterday...we do not have that crazy wind today thankfully. We have received NO precipitation thus far today. It looks like it is going to be a nice day today, especially since the sun is out, but will definitely be cold, that's a given. Not sure how much the sun will warm us up today. We'll just have to wait and see. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail conditions, please refer to Friday's blog.

Final update for the day as of 5 p.m...today ended up being really nice weather. The sun was out, which helped temperatures not feel as chilly. NO wind until towards the end of the day, the wind did pick up some. So all in all, today was some great riding weather. NO rain today.

We are OPEN today, Sunday, December 23 with hours of operation of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Just a reminder...if you desire to do any riding/camping during this upcoming week, please give us a call at our park office and we will set you up with an appointment in order to accommodate your holiday plans.

Wishing Everyone A Joyous Holiday! Safe Travels To Everyone.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Saturday Morning To You...Awwwwww...The Weekend At Last!

Overnight we received NO rain. Currently this morning as of 6:20 a.m., it is still dark outside, but we are anticipating another very nice day at the park today. But until it lightens up outside and the sun comes out, we'll just have to wait and see. We have received NO rain thus far today. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail conditions, please refer to yesterday's (Friday's) blog.

Another update as of 11:30 a.m., well today the sun which we have known this past week has not came out as of yet. It is currently cloudy and overcast. It really isn't that cold; however, it has become extremely windy here causing it to feel a lot colder than it really is. We'll bring you another update later this evening.

Final update for the day as of 4:15 p.m....well unfortunately the sun never came out today. It was just a dreary winter day. While we had NO rain today, we experienced very windy conditions. The temperatures seemed to drop throughout the day today and currently it is approximately 35 degrees. We're hoping for a warm-up tomorrow, but who knows, we'll have to wait and see.

We will be OPEN this weekend both today, Saturday, December 22 and tomorrow, Sunday, December 23 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. So come on out to Bulcher and get away from the hustle and bustle of preparing holiday feasts and standing in long lines to buy last minute Christmas gifts. It looks like a great day to enjoy the holidays in true Texas style...OUTDOORS!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Howdy...our trail/weather post comes to you a little late...for that, we truly apologize. We have been busy updating our website with the latest information for your convenience...more on that in a minute.

Overnight we received NO rain. Currently this morning as of 11:15 a.m., we have clear, sunny skies, and very pleasant temperatures....in the low 50's. A gorgeous day for some trail riding!

As for all the announcements we have been so busy posting this morning...there are several...first and foremost, we've GROWN! That's right...2,700 acres plus for your riding enjoyment. Be sure to check out our park news page for more on that. Secondly, we continue to receive numerous questions about our new policies and optional memberships for 2008....keep them coming. We have posted some more membership stuff on our policies page that we think will help including a list of quick prices that help summarize all of the packages that we are offering. Similarly, one question we have been receiving a lot that we thought we would mention on this blog that might clear up some confusion for people....as members, you are allowed to bring guests. Those guests can be other members of your family or they can be friends...your guests can be absolutely whoever you want them to be. Each membership package comes with so many guest opportunities allotted. Once you go over that many guest opportunities you can either buy more guest opportunities or you can just buy that person a membership if he/she decides they will be coming a lot after all.

Keep the questions coming. We really are excited about our new policies and look forward to bringing new and exciting features to RRMT, Inc. in the coming future.

Final update for the day as of 4:45 p.m....we all enjoyed a beautiful Monday at the park today...great temperatures and sunny skies. NO rain today!

Yesterday after our last post, it just continued to mist drizzle for the remainder of the day/evening. However, still no measurable amount of precipitation was received. TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hello....It's Friday! We are getting back in the swing of things here just in time for the weekend. As a tribute to Red Bull LMS, we posted lots of pictures of the event during this week and thus did not update you on the weather this past week...so we have a lot of catching you up to do...

Overall this week has been very cold and dreary. During this week as of now, we have received 1 inch and 3 tenths of rain. However, yesterday, we actually saw the sun for a brief time, but unfortunately that didn't last long. Overnight we received NO rain. Currently as of 12:30 p.m., we have extremely foggy conditions. In fact, visibility is very minimal. It is very cold, approximately 33 (brrrrrrrr) degrees here currently. In lieu of the fog, it is just a very dreary winter day here today. In light of current conditions and the news forecasts, it is hard to tell what to expect this weekend. We have heard everything from rain to snow flurries. It is Texas...so if you don't like the forecast, just wait 5 minutes and it is likely to change. So the best we can do is to keep you updated so you can plan accordingly.

Final update for the day as of 4 p.m....well as predicted, today has just been a gloomy day. The sun never made it out today and ever since our last post, it has been on and off misting rain. However, no really measurable rain amount has been received. It is still very cold here today.

Just a reminder...We will be OPEN this weekend both tomorrow, Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hope everyone has a Great Friday!

RED BULL LMS 2007 RECAP

Good Tuesday Morning To You...

Sorry there have been no posts on our blog since Friday....as many of you already know, Red Bull LMS was this weekend! For those of you that missed it, INCREDIBLE doesn't even begin to describe it.

100 riders started the day race on Saturday with ONLY 3 lucky riders advancing to the night race. In the end, Taddy Blazusiak (Poland) claimed the crown as Last Man Standing with Geoff Aaron (USA) being the only other rider to cross the finish line. Our hats go off to Taddy, Geoff, as well as David Knight (Isle of Man) who was unable to finish the race. Also, kudos to all the riders that even made the trip to Bulcher to attempt Red Bull Last Man Standing.

Lastly, a BIG Thank YOU to everyone that was involved with putting Red Bull LMS on. RRMT, Inc. is truly honored to have been the Home of Red Bull Last Man Standing 2007. Thank you to Red Bull, the Red River Dirt Riders, and the lengthy list of volunteers that made this event possible. From Bulcher, Texas To Your Homes...Happy Holidays & Thank You!

As for RRMT, Inc. we are back OPEN...However, we are open this week for riding by APPOINTMENT ONLY. We will be back OPEN on weekends starting this weekend, Dec. 15 and 16. In honor of Red Bull LMS, we will NOT be posting weather updates this week (on this blog) until Friday (to get you ready for the upcoming weekend). Instead, we will use this blog to let you enjoy pictures from this weekend's Red Bull LMS in Bulcher! Furthermore, in the coming days, we will have more coverage of the event as well as a full photo album of the Red Bull LMS posted on our actual website.

For now....ENJOY & CHEERS!
