TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Another Monday...Another Week!

Overnight NO rain. Currently this morning as of 10:25 a.m., we have cloudy overcast skies yet again today. We already have temperatures in the low 70's this morning and are expecting another really nice day. Hopefully the cloudy skies will clear out later making way for the much desired sun. It finally did yesterday, so we'll just have to wait and see. We have received NO rain thus far today, but we have a significant chance of receiving rain today and the sky definitely looks like it could rain, but again...until it does, we aren't believing it.

Hope Everyone's Week Is Off To A Great Start!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Greetings!

Well yesterday turned out to be a pretty nice day...it remained cloudy and overcast yesterday, it was a bit on the windy side, but NO rain. (See what we mean about rain forecasts...until it happens, we don't believe it.)

Overnight NO rain. Currently this morning as of 8:35 a.m., the morning is starting out just like yesterday...foggy/overcast skies...NO sun again today. However, this morning already we have warmer temperatures, low 60's and we're planning to get into the low 80's today. So temperature wise, it is really going to be a nice day. We'll just have to wait and see if this fog/cloudy skies burn off...maybe we'll see some sun, hopefully so. We have received NO rain thus far today. If you are looking for a comprehensive report on park trail conditions, please refer to Friday's blog.

There's Only 1 Day Left, TODAY, in the weekend....RIDE RED RIVER!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday!

Well it has been a GORGEOUS week. Yesterday was another sunny warm day...NO rain. Overnight we received NO rain. This morning we awoke to cloudy overcast skies which just haven't seemed to burn off as of yet today. NO sun today. We are enjoying temperatures in the low 50's today and there is some wind. RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 12:20 p.m.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions...

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility. (Except Bill's Woods & the New Property still remain closed at this time.) Another dry week here on the home front again...Our trails are dry; however, it is very possible to find some trails that contain mud puddles, especially in shaded areas. For the most part, dust is not too bad.

RED RIVER
Well due to the rain received last week...the river is bank to bank and there is no sandbar. As a result, be on the lookout for water that has been pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek where it meets the Red River. Especially with the last week's rains, particularly in the creek, you must be on the lookout for unexpected areas of quicksand that lurks in the creek...you need always be careful to avoid any quicksand because getting stuck is always a possibility.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek has risen due to the rains last week but is nothing substantial at this time. Riders will find that they can ride in the majority of the creek with no problems, but be especially careful when riding in the creek down towards the mouth of the river...quicksand lurks due to the rains last week and getting stuck is a possibility and NO fun. But since riders can ride in the majority of the creek, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

Temperatures look nice for the weekend. The forecast is calling for at least a 20% chance of rain everyday of the upcoming weekend, but we haven't seen any yet and until it actually falls, we're not counting on it. Hope you can make it out to Bulcher this weekend...Your ADVENTURE AWAITS!

We are OPEN this weekend, both tomorrow, Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy "Good Friday!"

Overnight we received NO rain. Currently this morning as of 7:40 a.m., the sun is trying to make its way out of the clouds. We have temperatures not quite at 50 degrees this morning. RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 7:40 a.m.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions...

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility. (Except Bill's Woods & the New Property still remain closed at this time.) We actually received moisture this week...what a change from our usual posts. As a result, NO dust! But on the other hand, the majority of the trails are dry; however, it is very possible to find some trails that contain mud puddles of standing water. We continue to dry out each and everyday since the rains due to sunny skies and warm temperatures and we will continue to do so throughout the weekend. But all in all, the moisture was much needed and much appreciated by our dry soil which soaked it up.

RED RIVER
Well due to the rain received this week...we have a new story on the river...the river level has risen and there is no sandbar. As a result, be on the lookout for water that has been pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek where it meets the Red River. Especially with the recent rains, particularly in the creek, you must be on the lookout for unexpected areas of quicksand that lurks in the creek...you need always be careful to avoid any quicksand because getting stuck is always a possibility.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek has risen due to the recent rains but is nothing substantial at this time. Riders will find that they can ride in the majority of the creek with no problems, but be especially careful when riding in the creek down towards the mouth of the river...quicksand lurks due to the recent rains and getting stuck is a possibility and NO fun. Update from yesterday...rainy and dreary all day long. The rain yesterday during the day and overnight totaled approximately 3 1/2 inches. Currently this morning as of 9:50 a.m., we have clear skies and the sun is out and shining brightly. A much different day from yesterday. We have received NO rain thus far today. We do expect muddy conditions today due to the recent moisture, but with the warm temperatures that are in the forecast for the rest of the week, we are hoping to dry out by the upcoming weekend.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Rainy Tuesday....

Overnight, we received 1 inch of rain. Ever since we got up this morning, it has been raining...dreary day, cloudy, overcast, NO sun, and temperatures in the 50's today but it feels a lot cooler because of the rain. It hasn't stopped raining enough for us to get you an accurate report on the rain amount thus far today...so we'll post later on the total amount received. Needless to say, it is a sloppy mess today. But the moisture is much needed and will help our dirt making for some awesome riding conditions later this week/weekend.

Stay in, stay dry, and rest up today...the rest of the week and upcoming weekend looks a lot brighter.

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Sunday overnight- 1 inch of rain
*Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 7:00 a.m.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions...

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility. (Except Bill's Woods & the New Property still remain closed at this time.) Another dry week at RRMT, Inc. One inch of rain late last week and all the moisture from the week before is long gone...Dust can be anticipated, but rider should not see puddles of standing water out on any of the trails.

RED RIVER
Same 'ole story...no big changes with the Red River. The Red River is bank to bank in some places, but then very narrow in other places, which has allowed the water to be split which has created various sandbars. As always, be on the lookout for unexpected areas of quicksand that lurks in the creek...you need always be careful to avoid any quicksand because getting stuck is always a possibility even when you least expect it.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek is extremely minimal at this time. Riders will find that they can ride in the creek the entire way to the river currently. Similarly, since riders can ride in the creek the entire way to the river, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

BURN BAN
If you haven't already saw the post on our blog or the update on our website...the BURN BAN HAS NOW BEEN LIFTED & THUS IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT! However, we still advise everyone to use extreme caution when grilling and having open campfires.

Spring Has Sprung....It's time for spring break and relaxation...we've got the perfect weather for it this weekend. See you in Bulcher this weekend!

Another reminder...this Sunday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is the KTM Riding Experience Off-Road 2008 Tour. Get on out to Bulcher to test ride the exciting, new line of KTM MX & Off-Road Machines. This special event will be held at the Red Bull Barn.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday!

Oh....What A Crazy Week of Texas Weather...two snow days...Tuesday and Thursday and after what seems a long week, it’s finally Friday!

Overnight NO rain or NO additional snow. Currently this morning as of 10:45 a.m., we have bright sunny skies and the snow is melting fast! We observed that we got approximately 3 inches of snow or a little more yesterday. It was definitely the biggest snowfall for our area this year. A large amount of the snow still remains on the ground, but at the rate that the sun is warming things up, it will be long gone by early afternoon and for sure by the weekend. Without further hesitation, let's get this weekend started finally...

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN & SNOW GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall and snowfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Sunday overnight- 1 inch of rain
*Monday--NO RAIN/SNOW
overnight-- NO RAIN/SNOW
* Tuesday--2 inches of snow
overnight--NO RAIN/SNOW
* Wednesday--NO RAIN/SNOW
overnight--NO RAIN/SNOW
* Thursday-- A little over 3 inches of snow
overnight-- NO RAIN/SNOW
* Friday-- NO RAIN/SNOW as of 10:45 a.m.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions...

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility. (Except Bill's Woods & the New Property still remain closed at this time.) Unlike months of posts stating it was a dry week...this past week was actually a very wet week...thanks to the snow. Thus, while we expect the much needed moisture to be soaked up, the top of the soil will be sloppy for a while especially with cooler temperatures even if there is sun. No dust should be expected and as the snow melts, riders indeed may see puddles of standing water out on some of the trails.

RED RIVER
For the most part, the Red River remains the same. The melting snow will add to the water level in the river and creek as it melts but no big changes are anticipated with the river water level. Thus, the Red River is bank to bank in some places, but then very narrow in other places, which has allowed the water to be split which has created various sandbars. The amount of water that the river has pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek (where it joins the Red River) had now pretty much receded prior to the moisture level we received this week. The run-off from the moisture this week will add to the creek level, but nothing substantial is anticipated as most of the moisture will be absorbed in our sandy soil. Due to the recent moisture, be sure to be on the lookout for unexpected areas of quicksand that lurks in the creek...you need always be careful to avoid any quicksand because getting stuck is always a possibility even when you least expect it.

BURN BAN
Just as an update...Yes, we are still currently under a BURN BAN even after all the moisture received this past week. The burn ban still remains in effect for Cooke County and thus at RRMT, Inc. While camping is permitted, RRMT, Inc. is strictly enforcing the burn ban & thus NO OUTDOOR FIRES are permitted under any circumstances! When and if the burn ban is lifted, we will let everyone know immediately via our website as well as at the park when people inquire about the issue.

After a week of unbelievable March Texas weather, this weekend is the time to get out of the house. We are expecting nice sunny weather for the weekend with temperatures in the 50's on Saturday and temperatures a little warmer (low 60's) on Sunday.

We will be OPEN this weekend both tomorrow, Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hola on Thursday!

Yesterday ended up being a pretty nice day...temperatures were pleasant and NO rain.

Overnight we received NO rain. Currently this morning as of 7:25 a.m., we have cloudy, overcast skies and temperatures in the middle 30's. We are expecting much cooler temperatures today and we have heard possible rain or even snow showers are also in today's forecast for our area, but who knows. We'll just have to wait and see. We have not received any type of precipitation thus far today.

Well it's 6:25 p.m....and it’s been quite the day. SNOW, SNOW, and need we say more...SNOW. We got several inches of snow; the exact amount of snow is unknown at this time. All the precipitation we received today was in the form of snow and NOT rain. At certain times during the day, visibility on the roadways in and around Bulcher was zero. Also, coupled with the heavy falling snow was high winds. It stayed in the low 30's pretty much all day today. As of now, we just have very cold temperatures, the roadways are slushy which we are expecting to freeze overnight which will make for treacherous road conditions overnight & early tomorrow morning. At this time, the snow has tapered off and there is no additional snow falling at this time. We will update you in the morning on what type of conditions you can expect for the upcoming weekend.

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hello Bulcher...We've Got Snow!

During the late afternoon yesterday, the snow started coming in and continued during the night. We got approximately 2 inches of snow total. Currently this morning as of 9:45 a.m., the sun is trying to come out and the snow is starting to melt. As usual, the snow is not very long lived, but pretty while it lasted. With snow on the ground now and temperatures in the middle 30's, bizarre as it sounds, we are expecting temperatures to get into the middle 50's today. Like we've said before, if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes, because weather in Texas is unpredictable.

Final update for the night as of 10 p.m...very wet day at RRMT, Inc. We did not receive any more precipitation, just wet from the melting snow. However, the moisture was much needed and will help a lot, especially with how dry our area has been.

Have A Great Tuesday!

TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Another Monday...The Start Of Another Week!

Yesterday the weather ended up being fair, sunny skies at times, and then it would become cloudy and overcast. Not as warm as Saturday, but still nice. NO rain.

However, surprisingly enough, we received 1 inch of rain overnight. Currently this morning as of 9:45 a.m., we have cloudy, overcast skies, and very COLD (30's) temperatures. BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! We have received NO rain or any other precipitation thus far today.

What a difference a couple of days makes here in Texas....70's on Saturday and now today...they are predicting snow late today and into tomorrow with accumulation for us here in Bulcher & the Red River Valley Area, but we'll just have to wait and see. We'll keep you posted.

Final update for the late afternoon as of 4:45 p.m...dreary, cold winter day. NO precipitation received today, but we are expecting it to fall overnight. We'll update everyone in the morning.

Hope Everyone Has A Great Monday.....Stay Warm!
