TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday To Ya....time to seriously start thinking about your weekend plans if you haven't done so already.

Overnight we had NO rain. This morning as of 9:30 a.m., we already have clear, sunny skies, and NO rain thus far today. Looks as though today is going to be BEAUTIFUL weather...just a little indication of what we are expecting this weekend....great weather for trail riding in Bulcher.

Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 9:30 a.m.

If you are starting to see a pattern here..you should.....We have extremely DRY conditions! It will be dusty out on the trails! Puddles are pretty much non-existent out on the trails.

We did NOT take any pictures this week because the conditions have not changed since last Saturday, August 4th. So if you want, you can still look back at all the pictures we posted on that day...because those can be used as a guide.

In a nutshell...Red River is still bank to bank, but the water level is slowly receding. As a result of the Red River still being bank to bank, it is still pushing a small amount of water back up into the mouth of the creek. This prevents people from being able to ride in Mountain Creek all the way from the old campground area in the main park area (sand pits) all the way down to the river. You will be able to ride in the creek the majority of the way to the river...but a little before it gets to the river, you will notice a change in the texture of the creek...it starts looking muddy, and this is where the left over QUICKSAND lurks so please do NOT try to ride in the creek all the way to the river...when it starts to get muddy as you get closer to the river, turn around and go another way. Getting stuck in the creek is not fun!

So in light of that report, riding in the majority of the creek is definitely an option with no problem. WE ARE NOT FLOODED... (just wanted to address this since we are still receiving emails and phone calls regarding this issue) The creek can be crossed in many areas in order to access ALL of our trails...they (trails) are all OPEN on both the North and East sides of the property.

In summary, the conditions at Bulcher are dry...in fact a little rain shower would settle the dust and riding would be PERFECT...but all in all, conditions are good.

Here is your final update for the day...we're bringing it to you a little early as of 4:30 p.m. since we are gearing up for the weekend here at the park....but just as predicted today...GREAT sunny weather. NO rain today. Time to start the weekend...

We hope that RRMT, Inc. in Bulcher, Texas is your destination for riding this weekend! We will be OPEN this weekend...both tomorrow, Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Happy Trails,
