TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Finally Friday...TGIF!

NO rain overnight. This morning as of 7 a.m., we have sunny skies with a current temperature of 69 degrees. We're anticipating a hot one today...mid to upper 90's for highs. We have received NO rain thus far today. Even though the weekend looks hot, there's no better place to be than out on the trails! Time for the weekend...

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday-- NO RAIN
overnight—NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight—Brief rain shower, but not enough to measure
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 7 a.m.

* Really no measurable rain to report. Besides, it has been so hot every day that any drop of moisture has been dried up by now.

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN...on both the North (Bill's Woods) & East (Pete's Gate) sides of the park. Mountain Creek is back to its normal level, except down toward the mouth of the Red River, it is all mucky in the creek. No problem crossing Mountain Creek, but we advise everyone to still use caution as the terrain is especially different down in the creek due to the heavy rainfall we received in April. All trails are dry & dust is to be expected. Due to the big rains over a month ago (that changed a big part of our trail system), we are still advising people of the following: Just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water has really changed a lot of our trail system, so we advise everyone to use extreme caution even when riding on trails that you were once familiar.

RED RIVER
Red River continue to receded more and more with each passing week, but still remains higher than usual at this time...still bank to bank. NO sandbar. As a result of the higher level of the river, a lot of water from the river has been pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek, preventing riders from riding all the way down Mountain Creek to the River.

CREEK
While riding in Mountain Creek is possible and crossing the creek is also possible...please use caution when in the creek, especially further down the creek toward the river. It is very possible to sink your recreational vehicle in the creek due to quicksand if not careful. Riding in the creek is at your own risk. Please note that if you get stuck, RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out!
