TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Morning Folks...Rise & Shine!

NO rain overnight. This morning as of 10 a.m., we have a current temperature of 33 degrees. Burrr! It is cloudy today...NO sun. We'll warm up a little today, but not much...only a high temperature of 40 anticipated. We have received NO rain/snow thus far today. Snow is still in the forecast for tomorrow (Thursday) here in the Red River Valley....but conditions may not get too bad after all, but we'll just have to wait and see. The current forecast is predicting that all of us here in the Red River Valley will get some snow, but may miss the bulk of the storm...so we'll keep you posted.

There is a special weather alert for our area as issued by the National Weather Service. See below for details:

Issued by The National Weather Service
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
4:06 am CST, Wed., Feb. 10, 2010

... A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT...

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL AFFECT NORTH TEXAS TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT AND BRING A MIX OF RAIN AND LIGHT SNOW. THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE SLOWER THAN PREVIOUSLY DEPICTED BY THE COMPUTER MODELS WHICH WILL ALLOW A BETTER RETURN OF LOW LEVEL MOISTURE AND SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES. THEREFORE... MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION WILL OCCUR WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE FREEZING AND TRAVEL IMPACTS TONIGHT AND THURSDAY SHOULD BE MINIMAL. TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BELOW FREEZING THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING AND SOME SLICK SPOTS MAY DEVELOP ON AREA ROADS... ESPECIALLY BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.

ACCUMULATIONS OF WET SNOW WILL BE GENERALLY LESS THAN 1 INCH. HOWEVER... UP TO ONE INCH OF SNOW MAY ACCUMULATE IN SOME LOCATIONS NORTH OF A COMANCHE TO ATHENS LINE... ESPECIALLY ON GRASSY AND ELEVATED SURFACES

** Stay warm everyone and look for tomorrow's blog to keep you updated on the wintry weather in our area!
