TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Friday Morning To All Our Fellow Blog Readers...

Excited About The Upcoming Weekend Yet? WE ARE....This weather has made everyone around here absolutely excited about riding conditions for the weekend. Overnight we can report that we received NO rain. Currently this morning as of 10:15 a.m., we have beautiful sunny, clear skies and AWESOME cool temperatures...don't know if it will even reach 80 degrees today...it might with the sun this afternoon, but right now, conditions are GREAT. We have had NO rain thus far today.

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Sunday night - 8 Tenths of Rain
* Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--1 Tenth of Rain
* Wednesday--Little rain but accounted for in the 1 Tenth of Rain Above
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 10:15 a.m.

Per our rain report above, we have had more moisture which was some rain as well as due to the cool temperatures we have been enjoying, we have had dew on the ground in the mornings which has also helped by providing moisture.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions....

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN both on the North and East sides of the facility. Per our rain gauge recap above, trail conditions are VERY nice at the park due to the moisture that we have received this week...but even with the moisture, we do not anticipate riders seeing any puddles or mud out on the actual trails because we needed the moisture so badly that the soil soaked it up immediately. Dust should not be a problem this weekend for trail riding.

RED RIVER
Yes, we know that we are starting to sound like a broken record on this one...but the Red River is still bank to bank with no sandbars, believe it or not...very unusual for this time of year. The amount of water that the river has pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek (where it joins the Red River) continues to recede but is still very prevalent.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek continues to recede but is still more than enough to prevent some riders from being able to get all the way down to the river. On the other hand, other riders are now able to ride in the creek all the way to the river by getting up on a small strip of land on the side of the bank of the creek. However, we still must emphasize that there is WATER, MUD, and QUICKSAND in the creek and getting stuck is still a big possibility. Therefore, please use caution when riding in the furtherest part of Mountain Creek down towards the Red River. Nevertheless, for sure, people will discover that they can ride the majority of the way there in the creek, but once they get down closer to the river, they will have to get out of the creek upon dry land and go the rest of the way if they desire to get to the river. Because the creek is very much rideable in the majority of it, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

In summary, current conditions at the park are PERFECT! If there ever was a weekend to get excited about riding...it should be this one! Trail and weather conditions have never been better. We are anticipating this great weather to continue throughout the upcoming weekend which is a major plus. In light of that, your WEEKEND lies ahead of you...only you can choose how to spend it...so we hope your destination this weekend is that tiny star (or no star at all in most cases) on the road map that says BULCHER, TEXAS. See you this weekend! And if we don't, we'll just enjoy the great weather ourselves!

Final update for the evening as of 9 p.m....GREAT weather today complete with cool temperatures, sunny skies, and NO rain today.

We will be OPEN this weekend both tomorrow, Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please note that the park is NOW observing fall/winter hours and thereby all riding ceases at 6 p.m.!

Happy Trails,
