TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday...Another Weekend Is Upon Us!

Overnight we received NO rain. Currently this morning as of 9:30 a.m., we have sunny, clear skies, cool temperatures, and NO rain thus far today. Today is a gorgeous day to the kick-off a GREAT weekend of trail riding!

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

* Sunday night/Monday morning - 1 Inch of Rain
* Remainder of Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 9:30 a.m.

Per our rain report above, other than the 1 inch of rain that we received at the very beginning of the week, that's about it. But also due to the cool/cold temperatures that we have been experiencing this week, we have also had some frost on the ground in the mornings giving us some added moisture.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions....

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN both on the North and East sides of the facility. Due to the cool temperatures and moisture we have received, trail conditions are good at the park. We do not anticipate riders seeing any puddles or mud out on the actual trails. We do not anticipate dust to be a problem out on the trails either.

RED RIVER
Here we go again....strangely enough, the conditions of the Red River just don't seem to be changing much....the Red River is still bank to bank. The amount of water that the river has pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek (where it joins the Red River) is still fairly substantial.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek continues to recede but is still more than enough to prevent some riders from being able to get all the way down to the river. On the other hand, other riders are now able to ride in the creek all the way to the river by getting up on a small strip of land on the side of the bank of the creek. However, we still must emphasize that there is WATER, MUD, and QUICKSAND in the creek and getting stuck is still a big possibility. Therefore, please use caution when riding in the furtherest part of Mountain Creek down towards the Red River. Nevertheless, for sure, people will discover that they can ride the majority of the way there in the creek, but once they get down closer to the river, they will have to get out of the creek upon dry land and go the rest of the way if they desire to get to the river. Because the creek is very much rideable in the majority of it, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

In summary, current conditions at the park are very nice! With the cool temperatures, especially in the morning & the evenings/night, a sweatshirt/jacket is not a bad accessory to bring along. It's a great weekend to come ride at RRMT, Inc....great weather to ride during the day and then a perfect time of the year to build a cozy campfire! We look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Final update for the evening as of 6 p.m...GREAT sunny riding weather today...NO rain today.

We will be OPEN this weekend both tomorrow, Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please note that the park is NOW observing fall/winter hours and thereby all riding ceases at 6 p.m.!

Happy Trails,
