TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Good Friday Afternoon!

Again, our blog comes a little late today, our apologizes. However, we have much more information to bring you today just beyond our usual Friday comprehensive trail/weather report.

First and foremost, for all you avid Red Bull LMS followers...It's Official...Red Bull LMS 2007 will air January 27, 2008 on NBC's Jeep World of Adventure Sports, 4 p.m. CST. So you all will want to mark your calendars for that...it's a MUST SEE!

As a result, we (RRMT, Inc.) definitely want to be able to watch this incredible show....so at this time, the status of our park on Sunday, January 27th is TBD. We will definitely be OPEN on Saturday, January 26 with normal business hours. However, we may close the park on Sunday, January 27. An announcement about whether we will indeed close the park or keep it open on that Sunday will be made very soon. Thank you for your patience.

Furthermore, as of this morning, our events calendar on our website has now been updated for the entire year! But of course, there will be changes here and there as we go through the year. So for those of you planning vacations...we've got you covered!

One question we have been getting frequently (which is an excellent question so we felt like we should share it with everyone) via telephone and park email is "once I sign up for a membership, how long does it take for me to get my member goodies back to me?" The answer to this question is it generally takes anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. All your member goodies will be sent to you via your mailing address that you provided on your application. Please note that member applications are processed in the order they are received.

And finally one last reminder before we get to the weather...ONLY members & their guests may ride on weekdays. The only exception to this rule is for visitors who have been granted a special exception. In order to see if your exception will be granted (if you are a visitor), you must call or email the park office. Members wishing to make an appointment for weekday riding may call our park office or schedule their appointment online at our website.

Now onto trail/weather conditions...

Overnight we received NO rain. Currently this afternoon as of 1 p.m., we have clear, sunny skies, and awesome temperatures (in the 60's)! We have received NO rain thus far today & today is shaping up to be a perfect start to an upcoming weekend. The local news stations are predicting that we may see a few sprinkles of rain tomorrow, Saturday, but we haven't seen any measurable amount of rain in so long, that we're not even gonna believe it until we see it falling from the sky.

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 1:00 p.m.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions....(again, you’re gonna notice that not much has changed since last Friday’s report because we haven’t had any big changes in the weather)

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN both on the North and East sides of the facility. Per our rain gauge report...again, we have received absolutely NO rain this week. For those of you keeping up with it, that now makes a full month without any precipitation whatsoever. As a result, we really need the rain, as it is getting extremely dry up in our area. However, riding conditions are currently pleasant due to the nice temperatures, but dust is definitely a given. As a result of our dry conditions, we do not anticipate riders seeing any puddles or mud out on the actual trails.

RED RIVER
Starting to sound like a broken record on this one, we know...not much has changed with the Red River since last Friday's recap...The Red River is bank to bank in some places, but then very narrow in other places, which has allowed the water to be split which has created various sandbars. The amount of water that the river has pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek (where it joins the Red River) has now pretty much receded (since we've been so dry), and at this time, really minimal and of no concern. However, it is still advised that you be careful to avoid any quicksand because getting stuck is always a possibility.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek is extremely minimal at this time. As always, it is advised that you be on the lookout for occasional spots of quicksand to avoid getting stuck, but really no problems there at the mouth of the creek are to be anticipated. Riders will find that they can ride in the creek the entire way to the river currently. Similarly, since riders can ride in the creek the entire way to the river, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

As this blog comes to an end, we are really excited about this upcoming weekend. The outlook on the weekend looks really GREAT...sunny skies...again they predict we'll get a few sprinkles but who knows...even if we did, it might end up making riding conditions even more AWESOME because we are so dry here...our soil will soak it up, making traction perfect and dust minimal...but we'll keep our fingers crossed on that one. Hope everyone has a great rest of their Friday...if you're looking for some of the BEST TRAILS in TEXAS...Bulcher is the place to be this weekend! See you then...

Final update for the evening as of 8 p.m....very nice day at the park today complete with sunny skies, great temperatures, and NO rain.

And finally, one last reminder...We will be OPEN this weekend both tomorrow, Saturday, January 12 and Sunday, January 13 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend!

Happy Trails,
