TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy Friday!

Finally The Weekend At Last...

Overnight NO rain. Currently this morning as of 8 a.m., we have cloudy skies, cold temperatures, and NO rain thus far today. It's gonna be a nice day at RRMT, Inc. but cold. Luckily right now it is still and we have no wind. While the outlook on the weekend still looks good, it looks as though we may have a little colder temperatures than originally expected. But then again, it's Texas...wait 5 minutes and the weather forecast will change anyways.

Don't know why we even bother bringing you the rain recap...we've forgotten what rain is since we haven't had any in forever!
RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP
Just as a recap, leading up to today, here are this week's rainfall totals that we pulled off each of our daily blogs from the week:

*Monday--NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Tuesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Wednesday--NO RAIN
overnight--NO RAIN
* Thursday-- NO RAIN
overnight-- NO RAIN
* Friday-- NO RAIN as of 8:00 a.m.

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions...

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN both on the North and East sides of the facility. (Except per our 1/17/08 park news announcement, Bill's Woods & the New Property are closed.)From our rain gauge report, it is easy to conclude...NO rain again this week, making it five consecutive weeks without any moisture. As a result, we really need the rain, as it is getting extremely dry up in our area. Dust is definitely to be anticipated. Furthermore, as a result of our dry conditions, we do not anticipate riders seeing any puddles or mud out on the actual trails.

RED RIVER
Without any rain, the Red River has pretty much been staying the same...The Red River is bank to bank in some places, but then very narrow in other places, which has allowed the water to be split which has created various sandbars. The amount of water that the river has pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek (where it joins the Red River) has now pretty much receded (since we've been so dry), and at this time, really minimal and of no concern. However, it is still advised that you be careful to avoid any quicksand because getting stuck is always a possibility.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek is extremely minimal at this time. As always, it is advised that you be on the lookout for occasional spots of quicksand to avoid getting stuck, but really no problems there at the mouth of the creek are to be anticipated. Riders will find that they can ride in the creek the entire way to the river currently. Similarly, since riders can ride in the creek the entire way to the river, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

In summary....finally time for the weekend. Time to get a little R & R at Red River! Right now, Saturday is looking a little colder than Sunday, but nevertheless both days we are anticipating clear, pleasant riding conditions.

Hope Everyone's Friday Is Off To A Great Start!

Final update for the evening as of 5:35 p.m., a really nice day at RRMT, Inc. today. We were pleasantly surprised by the nice temperatures...sunny skies and NO wind allowed temperatures to feel really great reaching approximately 50 degrees. NO rain today. Hopefully the weather will be like this throughout tomorrow & Sunday...if so, we're in for some great riding weather!

We will be OPEN this weekend both tomorrow, Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20 with hours of operation each day of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome This Weekend!

Happy Trails,
