TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy "Good Friday!"

Yesterday ended up being a really nice day...great temperatures, sunny skies, NO rain, but a bit on the windy side.

Overnight we received NO rain. Currently this morning as of 7:40 a.m., the sun is trying to make its way out of the clouds. We have temperatures not quite at 50 degrees this morning. We are expecting a very nice day complete with sunny skies and temperatures reaching the mid-70's today. We have received NO rain thus far today. With a holiday weekend upon us, we're ready to get the weekend started!

RRMT, INC.'S RAIN GAUGE RECAP

overnight--NO RAIN

overnight--NO RAIN

Here's your usual comprehensive Friday report on detailed park conditions...

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN on both the North and East sides of the facility. (Except Bill's Woods & the New Property still remain closed at this time.) We actually received moisture this week...what a change from our usual posts. As a result, NO dust! But on the other hand, the majority of the trails are dry; however, it is very possible to find some trails that contain mud puddles of standing water. We continue to dry out each and everyday since the rains due to sunny skies and warm temperatures and we will continue to do so throughout the weekend. But all in all, the moisture was much needed and much appreciated by our dry soil which soaked it up.

RED RIVER
Well due to the rain received this week...we have a new story on the river...the river level has risen and there is no sandbar. As a result, be on the lookout for water that has been pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek where it meets the Red River. Especially with the recent rains, particularly in the creek, you must be on the lookout for unexpected areas of quicksand that lurks in the creek...you need always be careful to avoid any quicksand because getting stuck is always a possibility.

CREEK
The amount of water being pushed up into Mountain Creek has risen due to the recent rains but is nothing substantial at this time. Riders will find that they can ride in the majority of the creek with no problems, but be especially careful when riding in the creek down towards the mouth of the river...quicksand lurks due to the recent rains and getting stuck is a possibility and NO fun. But since riders can ride in the majority of the creek, thus the creek is crossable in a number of areas so riders may easily access the trails on both the North and East sides of the facility.

It's the LAST WEEKEND OF MANY OF YOUR SPRING BREAKS & it's EASTER WEEKEND...there's no better time to enjoy Texas Spring Weather at its BEST! The forecast looks PERFECT!
