TRAIL/WEATHER CONDITIONS

Happy New Year...2010
A New Year...A New Reason To Ride Red River!

Reminder: RRMT, Inc. is OPEN three days in observance of the New Year's Holiday Weekend. We are open today Friday January 1, tomorrow Saturday January 2, & Sunday January 3! We will have park operation hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. all three days. All Members, Guests, and Visitors Welcome today & This Weekend!

Well believe it or not yesterday, late morning/early afternoon, we ended up receiving some rain which later turned to snow. Nothing measurable, just enough to be pretty on New Year's Eve. All of it pretty much melted on ground impact. NO precipitation overnight or thus far today. This morning as of 8:50 a.m., we have a current temperature of 26 degrees. There is a heavy frost on the ground this morning, but luckily the sun is out & it looks as though it will help warm us up today. We are expecting a clear, but chilly New Year's Day at the park. While the sun will help us a little, only upper 40's, possibly 50 degrees for highs today. If you haven't kicked off your holiday weekend, then what are you waiting for? Get out & enjoy your 3 day weekend. Below find your comprehensive report on park trail/weather conditions, just in time for the weekend!

A pretty wet week here in the Red River Valley.

TRAILS
All of our trails are OPEN....this includes all trails on both the North & East sides. Bill's Woods & the New Property are both open as well...ENJOY!

Mountain Creek is at its normal level, except down toward the mouth of the Red River where we advise riders to use caution. No problem crossing Mountain Creek at this time. Please note that due to moisture (in the form of rain & snow) throughout the week, expect somewhat muddy conditions as well as anticipate puddles in some of the trails. We still do have some lingering snow along banks of trails and in shaded areas, but snow is not a factor with trail riding this weekend...as the snow will just add to the scenic aspect of your New Year's Holiday Weekend Adventure. Reminder: Just because a trail was there on your last ride...don't expect it to be there on your next ride. Water (from the April 2009 rains) has really changed a lot of our trail system, so we advise everyone to use extreme caution even when riding on trails that you were once familiar.

Riders to RRMT, Inc. will now find that RRMT, Inc. has over 30 new point of interest signs installed out on the trails. These are a great new addition to the park & we are very proud of them! These signs will help you catch the iRide Bulcher, Texas fever as you continue to learn about the various unique parts of the RRMT, Inc. Facility!

RED RIVER
The Red River remains at its normal low level. There still remains some lurking murky water/quicksand being pushed up into the mouth of Mountain Creek from the river, so watch out for it...getting stuck is possible.

CREEK
While riding in Mountain Creek is possible and crossing the creek is also possible...please use caution when in the creek, especially further down the creek toward the river. It is very possible to sink your recreational vehicle in the creek due to quicksand if not careful. Also, be sure to watch for frozen patches of water in Mountain Creek. Please note that if you get stuck, RRMT, Inc. is under no obligation to tow you out!

The weekend looks bright...sunny skies & great temperatures!
Get out & enjoy your holiday weekend.
